Yeah, year years, your host Ray Muno. Welcome to my show where we relate, never hate do what we gotta do to find our groove and make shit happen and have fun in the process. This is episode 32. The vision, get the picture. I got a certain picture in my head when it comes. So what's installed for the Raymundo show and I kind of want to explain what goes into the vision, but before we do all that, let's get into the quote of the date. Let's go let's go. And today's quote, the date comes to you by Jonathan swift. Vision is the art of seeing what's invisible to others. Now that's what having faith is all about. And it's easy to see what's in front of you, but seeing what you can make happen and bring to life and having it go from your mind to reality. When you're able to do that, that's a superpower in itself. And the more you do it, the HAPPI you be, and the more people wanna be like you nobody wanna be like Mike, no more. That's the nineties Popeye. and I like that. What, what others think is invisible? you see it, you feel it. Like like beanie Siegel, you could feel it in the air. And the more you picture it, just like an affirmation, you increase the belief. Beyond measure. And when you using shit like beyond measure, They'll be your measure. that means you can't track it. Duke it's untrackable. But if you document everything from video to writing shit, you have the proof. And according to jello, the proof was in the pudding. back in the day, we would've said bill Cosby, but now we can't do that. No more. But yeah, enough about the quote of the day. Let's get into the episode, So with this episode, I wanted to talk about my vision for the Raymundo show. There's so much I want to do. And now with twins, I feel like there's so little. But I gotta make the best of the time I get. And like, I, it's almost like the tougher it gets, you know, like the more smoke I want, so my story can be better. And I feel like when you have that kind of mindset, at some point, life's just gonna be like, you know what, here just it's yours, man. Cuz you never let it go. Regardless what we threw at you. And sometimes that's what it takes. Cuz you don't know if you really want to do something until you're not doing great at it and you still want to do it. the show is not where I thought it would be, but at the same time I didn't do everything I could to make it that way. So I gotta take full responsibility for that, but I feel like I stepped it up and I made like a, a small increase. But I'm looking to make a fucking astronomical lactic upgrade and, and downloads. And my interactions with listeners, I'm really looking for like that Muno tribe of people who wanna, you know, listen to my shit, look forward to listening to. And in the process, just like I've been doing the interviews might meet someone that can change my life forever. as far as the show, with the transition, like I did a whole bunch of episodes, I kept doing it. Keep kept facing what I wasn't good at. And then I capped it at nine. So I still got episodes from that time they are different than the episodes I usually do. So I figure, you know what, let's just mix it up. Self-help entertainment, all that. So the guests I'm gonna have are from different fields. Yeah, I wanna, I just want to add a different aspect to the. And then next year I'm gonna take what I've done and what I did this year and, set to show how it's gonna be, and then do a crazy marketing campaign around it and get to where I feel like I should be where I want to be. And where. I know it's going to cause a significant change for me and my family, cuz I always wanted to do it for myself. But you know, doing it for your kids is a whole different drive and motivation and what's something dope I heard about motivation is that motivation is not something you feel is something you do when you get started and you see that you keep getting started, even though you really want to channel play two. 22, cuz 23, about to come out in a month and you're gonna give yourself some fucking props nigga straight up. But yeah, as far as guests, I want people with bigger influences, people that are starting now, people in the progress, like I want people from all walks of life, just either shoving their story, helping me do an episode or letting me pick they brain so I could be better. And so my listeners can be better cuz and there's seven habits of how they affect the people. You know, we gotta have a mutual benefit, which is I give you great content, great information. Great. Laughs and y'all should support my show the best way you see fit, whether it's whether we're sending an email following on Instagram or any type of any social media or even cash apping. And PayPal Hey buddy. oh man. yeah, and now, which I usually like to do non episodes, I always looked at it like, almost like a album, but now I wanna do it every week so yeah, I'm gonna have to really do, I'm gonna have to be the early riser and the late sleeper dream will never sleep your, hear, shout out the Nino. Another thing I'm finally gonna do is merch Raymundo shirts. think right now I'm gonna do'em in gray and. With the logo for now, then I'm, I think I'm gonna move into like certain sayings I'm gonna either, I'm gonna try to make some designs or I'm gonna hook up with somebody who got designs that, you know, I'm gonna figure that whole shit out. I never pictured myself selling clothes. I always wanted to, but you know, I never had like too much style to to really like wanna do that. I got friends that. They not on that wave yet that maybe I could use them to, you know, incorporate it into the, the Muno Muno wear or whatever I decide to call it. Cuz my girl, you know, she got Mundo baby coming out. The baby clothing line, the logo is fire man. That the logo is even more fired than my shit. shit is. So the colors is just so I don't know. It's so like hip hop. And she got great ideas and she really, yo she's, she's wilding with that shit. Like she really she got a lot of heat coming but you know, that's her shit. I'm trying to get mines in there. So I can start wearing my own shit cuz I support other people's brands. It would be great to get the same return, but again, I'm not expecting anything from nobody, especially like those are closest to me. That they do, of course, but I don't wanna have that pressure on nobody that, you know, if you could support you can, cuz I know if I was in a better place financially, I would support way more people. And I, I would be that guy when you start starting to be the first one to buy a couple things. I'm not there yet trying to get there with this show. I'm never giving up hope. I know this is gonna be the year that. Like everything's gonna come together. I'm gonna figure it out. I'm really about to, the show's about to go in the cannon ball and just be out Yeah, but it's mostly about finding like, you know, the Muno supporters, the ones that really look forward to hearing what I gotta say, man. Every artist dream is to have people love it. And I know there's people that's gonna hate. And, you know, I, I mean, I don't know how I'm gonna deal with it right now. I feel like I'm a brush the dirt off my shoulders. yeah, I'm just gonna do what I do now. Just focus on the positive and if I got a whole bunch of people that love me, I, ain't gonna worry about the people that Don. I mean, and it's crazy. You don't want everybody to love you like that shit. That should be kind of whack. The balance is all about the balance. Of course you want the people that love you to surpass the people that don't, but there's always somebody that has some shit to say yeah. But to, to promote the Buno show, I like what I have in the vision. What I feel like I gotta do is work on my marketing, read books. Like really learn that shit or make some money and get to a point. I could get somebody to hire. I could get somebody to hire to do that shit. With the toast masses, get, get on the public, speaking to spread the message about what I'm doing and also to motivat some people. That's another thing I always wanted to do that I guess I was scared to, but now I'm ready. Open mics, yo poetry. I always wanted to do a poetry open mic. I just don't write poems like your. Ordinary poet where, you know, the minds and the time and the, I could do it, but I like the way I do my shit and I don't really want to change it, I feel like that's a limited way of thinking. So now I gotta go do it the way I do it. And just to show that I could do it, I gotta do the way that the other poets do it and make it rain on some little wings. Shit. In fact, And another thing I've been looking into is a, blog. I actually, I don't have a lot of confidence in my writing. I always like to leave it to my girl, but I've been, writing more. And I actually, but I have confidence in writing like poetic, you know, shit and my final those things I, before I start, I already know like, I'm gonna body it. I'm gonna work on my writing to get the same effect with that. So, you know, there's blogs that a lot of people follow, which is another way to get the word out. But on this episode, I wanted to bring, you know, one of my best friends, my brother he's like my older brother that I never had always looked out for me. Been part of the Rado show, been part of everything in my life since I met him. And one of the greatest dudes most. Discipline dudes. I know. Great family. Yeah, man, but let's go get'em.

Track 1:

so yeah, like I mentioned earlier, I was gonna have my big brother help me out with this episode. the episode is called the vision, get the picture and he happens to be, uh, future world renowned photographer. That's gonna change the game for generations to come. my brother. Please let's give him a warm welcome to the Raymundo show. Guro quiet ride in the

Herby:

for having me, man. Thanks for having me.

Track 1:

Of course it was on your matter of time, man, you should have been on season one. This is, this, you know, is

Herby:

badass. I should have been on season one.

Track 1:

You should have been on season zero, actually.

Herby:

Yo. No, we did. We did that little, we did that little clip together last time

Track 1:

Oh, yeah. I remember the

Herby:

with the music.

Track 1:

ISO Muno SUNO. Yo, I gotta do something with that shit, but, um, I, I was, I was telling them in the recap that you were responsible for the cover, like even though Ruben made the work, the art, it was us hanging out on a Friday after me getting a ticket and uh,

Herby:

Yeah. Drew that shit up real quick.

Track 1:

Yo, we thought the inspiration was Bobby's world. And then it was like, damn, but I don't wanna be a kid. And then everything just happened the way it happened, but Yeah, it's good to finally have you here, man. Talk about the vision.

Herby:

man.

Track 1:

Um, I was letting them know earlier that, um, you know, I was letting them know the plans for the Ramo show. You know, of course you gonna. Part of it, especially when it comes to the, I gotta take some dope. I gotta take more. I gotta post mortem dope as pictures that you did, but I gotta do. I gotta do another one.

Herby:

Yeah, we gotta do. We need to do some more Was um, the last time we worked together, um, was for your shoot or you and wife, and

Track 1:

Oh, yeah.

Herby:

was pregnant. That was the last shoot we did.

Track 1:

if you are a photographer, that's gonna take work serious and it's not gonna be like, you know what I'm saying? Tidy Whitey about this shit. I don't even know. Let me not use that word. It's gonna be uptight about this shit. It's gonna make it a smooth progress. Like we did eight hours and it felt. I mean maybe cause we cause we brothers, but it felt

Herby:

because we, yeah, it is different it's but we did a, we did a full day indoor outdoor through that day.

Track 1:

or, but yeah, let's get into the episode, the vision. Um, I wanted to get into the, the imagination part, man. they said imagination is more important than knowledge. And if you think I'm fronting, I bet you, when you look up, who wrote that shit, it was Einstein. And you gonna gimme my respect. y'all gonna gimme my respect. well, you gotta think about it, man. Like, like before we had like knowledge before there was books to create what we have, they needed to use their imagination. So it's like knowledge came from imagination, right? Like in science, I guess

Herby:

Yeah, you create your own memory. When you were a kid, you create your own world. When you're playing, you got two action figures and you know, you create this landscape in your mind and you know, you take them there. So it's the same thing. Like just making it out of thin

Track 2:

basically.

Track 1:

hold on cuz yo, this dude had. His toys, like still in the box. So I don't even, I want to ask him what, what action figures you play with, but I don't even know if he took him out the box. So which ones did you get?

Herby:

Nah, you know, GI Joe, you know, you had all the Xmen, the wrestlers, you know, your WWF fucking whole Hogan

Track 1:

Tell something, brother.

Herby:

Nah, I used to have all of those, but yeah. Yeah, you went, if you ain't have the ring, you had to make the ring, you know what I'm saying? But you have the invisible ropes. So it's just create imagination, just creating that world.

Track 1:

speak. Speaking of ropes. I remember it was me, my brother, and one of the neighbors. We were playing wrestling and our power bomb, duke but he, he kind of fell on his neck. Yo son, I never to this day play wrestling again. That was using your imagination too much.

Herby:

yeah. That, uh, yeah, we used to play wrestling inside, you know, where the garbage bins.

Track 1:

mm-hmm

Herby:

the garbage pairs in the, the front of the crib. Yeah. I almost murdered one of my friends playing that shit,

Track 1:

Yo shout out the him Rob man, like, like I wasn't raised there, man, but I feel like I was cuz all the love I got from everybody. Shout out the Rob.

Herby:

yeah.

Track 1:

yeah. Shout out the Rob. Shout out the Johnny. Who else I'm

Herby:

you know, we have the small block, but we did a lot of.

Track 1:

My son PEY my son PEY my son. How I forget yo

Herby:

Monica pass or Monica pass

Track 1:

Yo, I wanna say this and I ain't in the front. I ain't in the, oh my son, Jay word. Uh, Cokey. Right? he's so funny, bro. Like, K's my brother, no matter what, man. Like if anything happens, I, if he hits me up and I could do something, I would, but he bust masks on the gram the other day. I posted this picture with it. Shit said I'm not attractive. Right. So yo, try putting in your is crusty try putting. Yeah. he's

Herby:

Oh man. Yeah. You know, you could read it and hear him. You could, you could hear him say

Track 1:

Yeah. that's

Herby:

Yeah. Shit is

Track 1:

tight. So I was like, damn. So I was hoping nobody noticed that shit, but, oh man. But I wanted to ask you when you were a kid, what you used to use your imagination to be like, what did you wanna be before, real life kicked in.

Herby:

I don't, you know, ironically enough, I, I, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a cop just, just until I hit like a teenager. And then, you know, you get harassed in Brooklyn and then you're like, yo, fuck that profession. And then you, but you know what? I, I landed into photography. Being a studio assistant. So I just, I had a, I had to clean up all the studio equipment, roll up the lights, papers, breakdown, like literally sets that was like, it would look like a small living room or kitchen. I had to break everything down. I was just like the cleanup. And then one day they were like, yo, we need, we missing a photographer. We need extra hands. You I'm gonna set this up, shoot this. And then I just, I was shooting from there and it just started giving me. Then I just bought a camera and I would say, you know, but you know what, I, we, I always had a camera growing up,

Track 1:

Oh,

Herby:

you know what I used to have all the,

Track 1:

You got the classic Randy

Herby:

You know what? I got the archive. Yeah. I always had my camera, you know, um, disposables always have disposables to this day. I still carry a few on my bag, Yeah, man. It, I guess it was somewhat destined, cuz I've always had a camera with me since I was like 13

Track 1:

So it's safe to say you always had a vision for this.

Herby:

Vision. I, I guess, yeah, if it it's something, I just basically put into perspective. like, I don't know, you just gotta learn every aspect of it cuz it's just not photography. You know, you gotta know editing, you know. lighting is like,

Track 1:

and I'm sorry, it, it I'm the host, but your lighting is fucking amazing. Like I'm like, yo, he, be. he don't know how to be bad. Like he don't know how to do bad. I remember we, we, we painted one

Herby:

lighting, bro.

Track 1:

Hold on. Hold on. We painted one time and I'm thinking he gonna come out in some bum at yo. He could have went to like, like the RER with that shit. to go paint. Like he's always fresh this guy.

Herby:

You know, the B outfits be okay.

Track 1:

yeah. man. I don't know. Like you. just always yo, when it comes to fashion, he's the one I. When I'm trying to put this Muno brand together, I'm gonna need him. If I don't have him, I'm not putting Muno brand nothing. It's not, he's gonna be in the DNA of the Muno brand. Remember that?

Herby:

yeah. You know, you know, I gotta put the, the designs on Tuesday,

Track 1:

yeah, of course, of course, in the color coordination, but,

Herby:

Now the photo shoots, you know, now, now that the babies are getting bigger, so that's gonna be fun, trying to get them to stay still for a photo.

Track 1:

Yo. I know that yo, especially Ryan, man, she just be like, Ray, Ray, you can get him. He'll smile at you. But Ryan

Herby:

Yeah. I think that's the hardest aspect, you know, obvious spoke people that shoot. I had a higher photographer just to shoot my, my daughter, There's a different aesthetic to it. You know, when somebody else has this look and you just want it, I know I could imitate it, but I know they have, they have to know how on the skill. So sometimes you gotta step out and, you know, you gotta hire somebody else to just do it for you.

Track 1:

Yeah. man, cuz you know, everybody's perspective is different. He might have a angle that man, you know what I'm saying? You don't have, but, And

Herby:

they know how to work with kids. You know, I don't know how to work with kids, you know, it's just not my forte. You know, my subjects barely move sometimes and dealing with adults is it's, it's totally different. You know, you was a pain in the ass when we had a photo shoot

Track 1:

Yo. I hope they him answer everything I thought I got, I wanna let the, it was funny that you said about your imagination that you wanted to be a cop. So I didn't have the Batman mask. So I figured the next best thing would to be a cop named Michael Keaton. Cause you know, um, Michael Keaton was Batman. So my brother ended up being like my, he was like my partner cop, we used to, this is what we used to do. We used to make pretend we were cops and he was Eddie Keaton. And we used to do that. Yo we had a song, bro. It was Michael Keaton, Eddie Keaton here to saved up world I

Herby:

I'm call I'm call Randy web that bro.

Track 1:

yo, if you asked Randy to sing the song, he's gonna sing the song just like that. And we used to imitate that bad boy's movie. The first one, you know, the part where, um, where Martin about to get hit by a car, and will Smith used, were running and shit. I used to open up my button up and I used to just be, and just go get ready out the way.

Herby:

running in the hole in the crib.

Track 1:

Yo. So it's crazy. Like, right you, I bet You you wanted to be a cop because of the whole superhero thing in justice. Like it was your way of bringing

Herby:

You know what? I, I love GI Joe. My, my grandfather was in the army. He told me I couldn't go to the army.

Track 1:

He said why? He said, nah, you ain't gonna

Herby:

yeah, he said squashed, that is not worth it. yeah. You know, but that army aesthetic, you know, there's always stuff on me too. You know, I like my ASO and pain.

Track 1:

oh, yeah. And, and he

Herby:

the physicality of the sport.

Track 1:

You nice with it too, man. Uh,

Herby:

It's another, it's another fun aesthetic of doing, you know, again, imagination. I gotta go out there and pretend like I'm in the fucking army playing air asshole, but when I'm on the paintball field totally different. It's more, but you know, like if you in playing a five on five on the court,

Track 1:

and you have mad, fun doing that shit.

Herby:

yeah.

Track 1:

And I ain't go from I remember I went yo, the last time I went paintballing

Herby:

Yeah, highlight

Track 1:

yo, I just finished watching die hard. damn you be Kae motherfucker. die. Our last free, one of them shits. Right.

Herby:

Yeah.

Track 1:

yo, I sold my moment. Herby was going one on one with the dude and it was just me and Herby left and he ran, he goes, I ran outta, I ran outta, um, I think you ran outta air. I ran outta air. So I was like, oh, this is it. So I run. And I slide on the floor going, he goes, yo, I was like, Yeah.

Herby:

Yeah. yeah. I seen that in this slow motion. I was like, watch you it's like, bro. That was your highlight, bro. I was like, yeah, you

Track 1:

I getting smoked before that though?

Herby:

Yeah, he was getting smoke though.

Track 1:

I'm about Yo, how I got mad

Herby:

he was getting

Track 1:

caught in my neck.

Herby:

Yeah, no matter, yo, those are the most painful, no matter what neck and the knuckle

Track 1:

yeah,

Herby:

it..

Track 1:

Well, your mind doesn't know the difference between fantasy and reality, right? So someone who has a billion dollars and you thinking about having a billion dollars, your two brains don't know the difference. If you get what you attract, why not think about it? Like you already have it, like really get into that, that move. Cause logic can only get you so far, but your imagination that should have you on, in ju on Jupiter,

Herby:

Yeah, not

Track 1:

right? Like that's

Herby:

that's a fact.

Track 1:

that's a real shit. Um, so as far as using your imagination, I don't think nobody needs any, any tips, yo. Think like a kid, like, like really go back and be who you want to be. But as an adult, and you'll realize that you'll unlock your creativity it can help your health. Cuz if you think you healthy, guess what? guess who's healthy. and using your imagination, it can give you an idea that knowledge and facts can't do. think about that.

Herby:

Yeah. It it's expensive when you have, um, good imagination.

Track 1:

yeah, man, you can like. I don't know, man. I Just. feel like they test for IQ, but They don't test for like how, you know, there's no test for creativity, which is like, we really, they, the ones that make the difference, in the office, in the movie, in the, in the song, The more creative you can be. And then you gotta take chances when you being creative, especially when you are in art, right. You might have to take a picture. You know, I'm saying that some people might be like, ah, you wilding out. But there's a whole other side that sees as art. Like yo,

Herby:

it's having to create somebody else's vision at the same time. you know, cause some people go into a job. Like they, they have request like, oh, I seen this person shoot. can you do this, do that. And I'm like, I could create something similar. You know, I always wanna make it seem like, oh, I could do that. Like that's not my work. You know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

Yeah,

Herby:

It's and you, you have to have imagination sometimes when you're creating somebody else's vision, you know, you just have to go off of what they're just telling you. But at the same time you have to visualize it and put it into perspective. And sometimes you work with good people. Lot. I'm blessed. I've been able to work with them. A lot of good people that, um, they just let me do what I want at that. I, I, I know that seems kind of selfish, but they just trust my vision. They're just like, you know, what do you want? This I'm just like,

Track 1:

That takes pressure off him and, and they can just blame it on you at the end of the day, you know, like,

Herby:

Yeah. That's a fact. Yeah.

Track 1:

nah, but blame it on you for the fucking masterpiece that he's gonna deliver. Cause my brother is fucking epic, like fuck with your hair. and I'm sure you heard great things cause

Herby:

Yeah. That's a.

Track 1:

my brother's professional, like profess, like he was, we was joking around, but he was trying to be more professional and I'm like, yo, come on, man. Oh man. Alright. So as far as imagination goes, man, if you make pretend. I recommend you make pretend, cuz it can come to life and you know, before you realize it, but I wanna talk about what goes into using the imagination. You have to like, you have to see it. Right. Which is, which is art and visualizing. I've done board of visualizing a couple times in the transition and I'm bringing it up again and I'll keep bringing it up. Cause I don't think people realize how important it is to see the shit. Before it comes to life before it's here. Right. Cause if you don't see it before it it's here, you kind of separate yourself from it. Like you almost see it, like it's unattainable, like it's too far, but if you see yourself as one and think about it, like, you know what I'm saying? It's you, it could make a, a big impact, man. besides photography, do you visualize like, as far as for like

Herby:

Yeah. Um, you know, it's not just photography that, It just, just keeping hobbies as well. I love looking at furniture, postmodern, you know, architecture, different, you know, modern artists. I take my daughter to all the free museums that we, um, just so she just gets a creative sense. and I feel like having a kid, you know, keeps you young and keeps you, um, Just on the creative side, cuz you know, you're doing a lot of things you don't do. You're coloring again. You're doing collages with a kid. I had to build a guitar, you know, make a guitar for my daughter for school.

Track 1:

though. Oh yeah. I

Herby:

you gotta do different little projects.

Track 1:

she was rocking it.

Herby:

Yeah. So you know what so, and you know, we have like a little station in our office, where she just grabs stuff and she creates just different collages and just random shit, whatever she's. She has a book. You go out to a few galleries, I'm like, try to draw what you seeing the best way you can. There's no wrong way of doing it. You know what I'm saying? So that's where you just gotta remind kids like too, like there's no real, there's no real wrong way of doing it

Track 1:

damn,

Herby:

when it comes to being created.

Track 1:

See, that's what I'm saying. That's the gem shit I'm talking about. Like, that shit got me, like, damn, I gotta do the same for my kids, cuz that was dope. Like you want to embrace the art early man. and like what you just said, like, it doesn't have to be perfect. It. doesn't have to be right. Like it's just, just creating, get in the habit of creating early and then

Herby:

Yeah. Cause you can't say it's wrong.

Track 1:

Yeah. And then showing them other creator. That they can draw inspiration from no pun intended.

Herby:

yeah. Yeah. That's why it is different, you know, when that's a different subject when it comes into that, like kids and, um, trying to keep them on their edge, like, cuz I feel like school for. Always try to take my edge weight, um, by just telling me not to be outspoken and I would fail the math test if I didn't write out the steps and I would be like, but I got the answer in my head.

Track 1:

Come

Herby:

Ain't the object supposed to be to do it fast. And then like, you're supposed to show your work I will. I won't be like, yo, there's some bullshit. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, I, I did it already in my head. This is, this is before iPhones. You know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

Now when you had the sidekick, Matt

Herby:

Yeah.

Track 1:

and I remember. you were a smart dude that just didn't want nothing to do with school. Like as long as I knew her and yo, we went to

Herby:

Yeah.

Track 1:

ABC. So again, shout out the ABC, it

Herby:

Shot our

Track 1:

eh, oh, S crazy. We didn't become, We. didn't become boys until he left ABC. Like I felt that was it. It was like we was family. Yeah. man. Shout out the Magali. Shout out to, You know your sisters, everybody, your nephews, your nieces love, love to the river. And, uh, what's

Herby:

Yeah. You know that now she's a,

Track 1:

Miranda. Shout out to Wally man. That's my love Wally, bro. When I, every time I see Yankee hat, I think of,

Herby:

Oh, that's a fact, you know, I can't, you, you know, I can't wait, no other hat in my CRI

Track 1:

yeah. Yeah. That's that's dis.

Herby:

can't even pull up with a fucking net type

Track 1:

but as far as visualization, I've done my research. I mean, when I've done it, the best technique, has been to like, like I will close my eyes and I will really like, try to feel like my, all my senses to like, make it as real as possible. And for the most part, I would say eight out of 10 times when I really used it that way I got. But the steps they broke down, um, from the little research I did is you have to be in a relaxed state.

Herby:

mm-hmm

Track 1:

You have to know exactly what you want. Precisely. Like, don't go, don't be like, Spiderman. I don't know if you saw the movie, but when he changed his mind and Dr. Strange, fucked up, don't be like, don't be like Peter Parker. You gotta know what you want. Don't be like, oh, don't forget about aunt made.

Herby:

Throwing all these variables in there. My.

Track 1:

I mean? Be a hundred, be a hundred, a hundred, a hundred. and feel the experience until you go to dreamland. Cause I don't know what it is. There's something about doing this in that relaxed state that it, it like, it talks to your subconscious mind. Remember your subconscious mind records everything, whether you realize it or not. If you go to sleep and you hear a song that says, you're a bitch, you're a bitch. You're a bitch. You're gonna wake up. Guess what? Feeling like a bitch. so be careful what you, what You feed your ears is just important is what you feed your body. You feed your body lot of junk.

Herby:

You learn, you learn that late. Nobody tells you that when you are young

Track 1:

Nah, not, not

Herby:

you know, watch what you listen to. And nothing like back in the day, you know, the old heads used to be like, no, listen to that bullshit.

Track 1:

Yeah. When You said some positive shit, they're like, ah, that's some

Herby:

And, and they like, yo, don't listen to that bullshit, but you know what? I respected and I understand it, you know, as an adult now, you know what I'm saying? Because you don't want to litter your mind. You are what you eat.

Track 1:

yeah. But you, you. The you are what you eat and you are who you hang out with. I didn't really take those serious until I became

Herby:

Yeah, man, your mom used to say that who you, who your friends are, they wanna meet your friends, see who you chilling with. See where's your circle because you know, it, it is true. You hang out with trouble. You're gonna get into, even though we got into some trouble, even though we got into some trouble a couple of times, you know, I'm saying. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? But, um,

Track 1:

man,

Herby:

it, it is that in inner circle, cuz you know, you want people that could help, that could pick you up. You don't want somebody, that's gonna keep picking you down. You know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

that's a fact, man, I've been blessed that, you know, Herbie's part of like main member of my support squad shit, man.

Herby:

then just gotta

Track 1:

done anything with him being in somewhere helping me, man. So I appreciate your brother. I Always. let you know. Anyway, I I'm not far for the camp.

Herby:

Yeah. Nah, but that's what we do. We always got that's the shit, people forget that, you know, even when people have, you know, you got a small family and then you gotta extend family and the majority of the time you extended family becomes a main family.

Track 1:

Yeah.

Herby:

That's really what it is. You know

Track 1:

It be like that, man.

Herby:

yeah. You gotta find people that, are, that are good for you. You know what I'm

Track 1:

Yeah, that, that flow with your energy, because sometimes it sucks sometimes just cuz they family, they might not flow the same, but you, I don't know. But like the way I do it is even if we don't flow the same, I try to find a place where we meet and, and, and the flow from there instead of like, cuz God forbid something happens, you know what I'm saying? I'm never, I don't like that type of shit. So,

Herby:

yeah. Be on bad terms with anybody. Yeah.

Track 1:

Yeah, you don't want that man. Cause you only get to

Herby:

no, you want to clear the air. You wanna always clear the air, you know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

Yeah. man, clear air. Don't be like, the people that run the world and just let it, the air be polluted. You don't want that.

Herby:

Yeah.

Track 1:

all right. So what could we do to stay focused, man,

If you're focused, man

Track 1:

like Joe buttons when he was with on top music

Herby:

Yeah.

Track 1:

I would say. Setting up your vision, like like, putting real thought into what you want in that shit.

Herby:

write it down.

Track 1:

Write it down, always write it

Herby:

I, mean, it's always good to keep a small book. If you carry a bag or something, I always carry a small book and I'll scribble in that bitch, whatever the fuck comes to mind.

Track 1:

And you got your phone, you know, what's crazy. Like I've been writing more my shit on my phone and I'm like, yo, why? I always gotta wait till I got a book or like, I can

Herby:

yeah. These are tools. Yeah. These are tools that you have, right? You use your phone for sure. You want to type up something, but it's good. But when you write it down, it's more of spell, you know, you spelling out the words, you, you putting that shit into the atmosphere, you put it in on a tangible object. If you put in, you know, On your phone, it's a digital aspect. So in this world, this tangible, 3d real, you know, you don't, you want to put that shit on the object. You wanna write it down and that's how they make shit happen. That's why people write books. That's why we have scriptures, cuz that's the only time they make sense is when you write it down, you gotta put on a tangible object. You gotta make it real.

Track 1:

Yeah. man. and that's how you make it legit. And that even comes from the program from school, like. Until you wrote some shit. You ain't do your homework until you wrote in that book. you know what I'm saying? You ain't passed that test until you wrote on that paper. So

Herby:

Yeah. Yeah. That's the true. Remember you had to write all that down and that's the only way you truly really absorb that information is you wrote it, you wrote it down. And I understand the steps that they're saying, like, yo, write down the steps to do your math problem, but still I saw it up here before I saw it on the paper. So I just put the

Track 1:

yo that's some Russell

Herby:

I was in and out. Wanted

Track 1:

Crow shit. But Russell Chrome, beautiful minds type shit. That's that genius shit.

Herby:

te some, some Tesla shit. Tesla said that

Track 1:

but speaking of you saying about, you know, writing it down, it's just pretty much using your resources, being, you know, being resourceful, whether you got a little notepad, whether you write it in your notes, another thing that came to my attention that can help is using your calendar.

Herby:

Mm-hmm

Track 1:

You know what I'm saying? Like really use your calendar and. Put everything in perspective and, and give it a day, uh, a deadline, anything you give a day to, like, you gonna feel like shit, if the date passes and, uh, and you don't do it.

Herby:

Right.

Track 1:

and it's All about habits, right. And your habits is like, you do shit so much that you don't even think. So now you gotta try to find a way to incorporate these habits, like good habits that feed the vision. And I think a great way to do it is. Make them shit's micro. You know what I'm saying? Start building a habit little by little.

Herby:

Yeah. It's like, when you're changing a bad habit or something, you know, you wanna take small steps, whatever it may be. Like, we need yourself away from something, you know what I'm saying? that's the best way. And when you want to, when it's objective base, like you set that date. So I feel like I, I always like to work. A time base, you know, especially for a job or something like that. Like, Hey, when do you need this buy? So I know when I have to ask you, if it's just like, Hey, whenever is just harder. It's just like, you know, it's on the back. It's like on the, the back of my mind, not in the forefront. And I always try to like edit everything as soon as just to get that out the head, but sometimes it sits, you know what I'm saying? And um, I always like to set that deadline.

Track 1:

Yeah, man, cuz if not ill linger, ill linger, you'll take your time. And then

Herby:

you, you executed.

Track 1:

yeah, you, know, time is the, what is it? Time is the difference between what you want and what the goal is. So pretty much like all of this is not something that you just gonna like listen to the podcast and be like, oh shit. You know what? I know how to focus on my vision now. Nah, you gotta practice. You know what I'm saying? You can't be like Allen Iverson practice.

Well i mean listen we talking about practice

Track 1:

Yeah. You gotta practice. Practice makes progress. Practice

Herby:

Some people want the shortcut. They think that, you, you read this book that automatically I'm gonna be able to do this. I'm gonna be great at this. And it takes practicing, even takes failing at it,

Track 1:

the best teacher.

Herby:

you know how many times you hear? No. Yeah. There's a lot of competition out there. and I never looked down like looked down on them, like, yo, it is good to see other people do good and see other people do, you know, great work

Track 1:

a

Herby:

there's competition and you know, you're gonna hear no, somebody's not gonna like your look your aesthetic.

Track 1:

everybody can't like your shit, man. Like if everybody did, like, you wouldn't know, like you wouldn't know what to change or what you feel like you might need to step up. And sometimes, especially when it's constructive criticism,

Herby:

Mm-hmm

Track 1:

difference. And

Herby:

it can make a break. Some people though, too.

Track 1:

yeah. Yeah. That, that, no, man, nobody likes to hear. No. And just so you know,

Herby:

Mm-hmm yeah.

Track 1:

no ain't ever killed nobody. I don't know nobody that died from the word. No.

To the no

Herby:

Yeah. I mean, it's just, it is what it is. Yeah. Some people just take it a little heavier, say no one is it's, especially, I understand the aspect. Like if it's like, let's say you're going for your dream job or you're applying to your dream college, or this is something that you've had your mindset on and say here, no, then you gotta figure it out. After that, sometimes people are like, yo, fuck it. They said no. And then they just like, they give up. But after that you just gotta figure that shit out. You gotta show, you know, time frame the work, but just figure that shit out.

Track 1:

And there's a lot of things that like factor in to your mindset when it comes to that. But you gotta find out. what, what those people that, that get the results that you want. What do they do? It's like, that's what I'm saying. That copy cash shit. When you were younger, like yo successful people copy each other. They don't even blink. And as long as they, you know what I'm saying, as long as they eating good. So what if they're using someone else's system or someone else's

Herby:

Yeah, it's sharing information. Yeah. It's, that's part of, that's a part of sharing information, bro. for sure. It's sharing information. Like people that have that generational wealth, their family passed down generation generation taught them how to do this, how to keep this business that, and that's the thing out of that, gotta teach yourself. And we're lucky this day and age, we got access to so much inform.

Track 1:

Yeah, but I got a front though, that, all that information, that shit is overwhelming.

Herby:

It is overwhelming. Yeah. I mean, and, and you know what it is, and certain things that you look into you'll find the yes and the, no, you know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

mm-hmm

Herby:

I know everybody's done it. Like you got a pain on your side. You're like, fuck. Oh, web MB. Uh, and you know, you go over there and you try to be fucking Dr. Google. And they're like, yo, you got fucking yo oh shit, I'm dying. I got cancer. It's like, nah, motherfucker, you got gas.

Track 1:

Yo

Herby:

You know, I'm saying, yo Dr. Google will fuck. Yeah, Dr. Google will fuck you up. And that's the shit having access to information and looking that up. Then you like, wait a minute.

Track 1:

fucking review on Yelp.

Herby:

yeah. Yo one star reviews when

Track 1:

No fuck you, Dr. Now what are some reasons you not focus?

Herby:

Um,

Track 1:

start off with, you're not sleeping enough. You think sleep is not important.

Herby:

Mm-hmm

Track 1:

what I'm saying? I respect NAS, but sleep. You know what I'm saying?

Herby:

he knows the cousin of death.

Track 1:

It's the cousin of death, but yo,

Herby:

Now you do need your sleep, man. I think that's the hardest thing for anyone to just like, keep a good habit this day and age on sleep,

Track 1:

Yeah, man, because we don't, we don't wanna do the necessary, like who the fuck don't want to have their TV in their room, who don't want to have their phone by their side, but that blue light I've done. I've read a lot of research that, that blue light make a difference. It keeps you up. And, in, in the 5:00 AM episode that you haven't listened to yet speak I speak about, I speak about keeping your room, like your phone away from you, so that you can have a better chance of going to sleep earlier. And when you don't wake up and look at your phone right away, you have a better day.

Herby:

Yeah,

Track 1:

as a.

Herby:

nah, that's the truth. I remember like at the very beginning of COVID my phone broke, so I was like two weeks without my phone, but I was the most fucking creative. I've worked on so many of my old images. Like, I don't know, I felt more motivated. There's that? In all honesty, a phone is the biggest distraction anyone has remember before you can somebody calls your house. You don't know who it is. Oh, I don't wanna answer you. Fuck it. You're like leave it. Your phone rings. It's like you being, you being summon. God is calling you. You.

Track 1:

Yeah,

Herby:

You look at your phone. You're like, what the fuck? Oh, an Instagram post. Some it's some bullshit, but you wanna see it? You're already, you already programmed to look at that shit.

Track 1:

But yo check this out. You know, what correlation I made with that? I know you're going find it funny, but like, you know, before, when you had, when you wanted to watch porn, you had to like S sure. The video was set up. You had make sure everybody was sleeves in. You had do all this. You gotta make sure the tape would rewinding and they didn't hear it. And now you could just go on your phone. Like, I feel bad for The youth man, a lot. That shit causes a lot of dysfunctions and shit. Yo, I

Herby:

I mean, it's a very, is, is access. Like I said, it's access to a lot of information and the younger generation, it's like, everything's quick that 10 times smarter, you know what I'm saying? Cause they just have access to all this information. But at the same time they have access at the wrong stages. You know what I'm saying? Cause sometimes you are a little young minded to be, you know, granted access to some of this information.

Track 1:

Yeah, man. That's the fact I

Herby:

And it's not for everybody. Yeah. You know, it's not, it's not for everybody. And um, that's why I think this a lot of kids be just, you. They be lost that they fully distracted. They, they, they, before, you know, we had graffiti, we, people used to yo, we used to vandalize shit just to show, you know, what we felt was art. You know what I'm saying? Tagging up your street name, you going around parts.

Track 1:

Yo graffiti art is always, I used to love running in Bushwick and just seeing all the different arts man. but, but we speaking about like distractions and social, media's definitely one of them. And the thing is you prioritize these distractions, your TV shows your, your Instagram post, everything, and you forget about the thing. That's gonna make your vision come to life. And these are the things. Especially distractions that block, like you gotta figure out a way out that Netflix Bing fucking

Herby:

yeah, you like you all gotta finish these next four episodes. It's.

Track 1:

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I gotta finish this shift. I gotta

Herby:

You got something, right? You

Track 1:

and I

Herby:

hold. Yeah.

Track 1:

That's my word. Uh, what's another thing. you don't work out. And so when you building, when you're trying to build a new habit, it's always good to start with working out. Like if you incorporate working out, cause like it's not only for your body, right. I'm about to get scientific on ya. It stimulates growth in the cells. And when these cells are, when they experience the growth, they connect the, to other parts in your brain. so saying what they're saying is if you build the habit of working out, you'll be able to build other habits, just from the reps and staying focused and you. Consistently doing It and anything you do consistently, man. you'll be great at, you'll be good

Herby:

It becomes second nature. Yeah, it becomes second nature. Like a reflex on

Track 1:

Yeah. That's how you want it. You wanna reflex, you know

Herby:

Yeah. Yeah. That's how basically I got stuck with photography just was really like a second nature for me.

Track 1:

yeah, I ain't gonna front, man. I can't wait till you like. You know what I'm saying? You got the business.

Herby:

I gotta make some moves now that actually, um, I do have a post more show up more my work, but I feel like it's personal. That's like mine. I don't, I don't really care for social media. You know how I am,

Track 1:

but another reason that you might, your focus might be blocked is cuz you don't have a plan. Like we said, writing it down, having a plan following through. you gotta look at it like this and tell me this perspective. fire if you gonna make something new, how you going to make it? If you don't got the ingredients. If you follow step by step and ingredients that work for you, you can have that souf plate today that, uh, change your taste buzz. You hear but metaphorically, you could change, you know, try something new, find out what goes into it, set up a plan and you could be living a different life and stay tuned to the Raymundo show. Cuz you gonna see. Me and my brother, we gonna, you gonna see the evolution. He gonna be here season after season.

Herby:

You know, that

Track 1:

and we gonna keep, we gonna keep rising to the top. Don don't So when it. comes to being motivated, what's the picture in your head Herby that keeps you going when you feel like, I don't feel like doing shit no more, but you, you push through

Herby:

you know, me with work and all of that. Like sometimes I gotta take a step back. if I don't feel motivated in photography, one thing that I would always do is just I'll buy a new lens and it, it is something new to play with.

Track 1:

My go-to picture being financially free in a house that I built, you know, of course I'm a hire some motherf fucking builders, uh, in a house where my kids got everything they need. not that the picture has to be still, but

Herby:

I think what everybody wants is financial freedom, but mainly what I want is just, it's not financial freedom cuz you know, if you, I know, unfortunately money rules, everything, but um, time. just time. Cause you can't get time back, like the money you can't, you who cares your is just time. If I could go, like if I could go over there real quick, boom, go to Boston, go chill with you. That's time. Well spent, you know what I'm saying? Go see my sister PA time well spent and to get there, I had to have financial freedom. You know, that's what just really keeps me going. I gotta, I gotta bust my ass, Yeah, you gotta dream big. That's what I'm saying. That's what, that's the reason you want it. Right.

Track 1:

Word man. Cause in this world, the only way we can have true freedom is Being financially free. to be able to do the things we want. Like yo, we have been taken. All my brothers, shout out the G shout out the cookbook. Shout out the shrub had ARU hat, shout out to Sammy. Shout out the old boy, shout out the but we haven't went on like a, a trip, man. And we get, we gonna get financially free so we could, make it a habit of going on trips together, celebrating life, man. you want time, but it's gonna take some time to get that, but eventually Yeah. we'll have it. And we'll be able to, yo, we'll be able to do the morning special way differently. We'll be able to do it in Jamaica. You know what I'm saying? Watching a old school on a, a hotel lobby or some.

Herby:

That's a fact. You know's funny. I was watching that probably

Track 1:

Yo I owe yo I'll be wanting to, not watch it for a long time. So whenever we ever watch it again, it could still be, but Essent shit is always funny, man. Um,

Herby:

it. My wife was like you watching this again?

Track 1:

How do you make changes that keep your vision intact? But what do you do when the picture's not right?

Herby:

Well, I gotta step back and refocus. Now. Sometimes I might need a different lens, you know,

Track 1:

I was waiting for that. I'm like, say it. just The lens, please fucking say it No. Yeah, but that's just basically saying, just, just trying to have a different perspective, like. But somebody might know more than you and they might have a perspective that might be the one that works for you. So

Herby:

It's always being open mind and that's, what's good about being in a circle with like people that have that same common interest, so you can fall back on them. Like, what do you think about this? Or what, you know, you can get advice from certain, um, aspects of what you need a as opposed to just going online and just like, binging a bunch of different information, you know, that's not really from a personal user, you know what I'm.

Track 1:

That's why you need, like, you need serious accountability partners. me and Jermaine spoke about it briefly, but eventually we want to add more people, but like we really meet up every Sunday set goals. And then the. following Sunday. Who did what, who stood on top of their shit, and we can help each other all come through that Sunday until like I'm saying until there's a Sunday, we can meet on the island. Cause we really being accountable and we making shit happen. taking baby steps, sometimes you be thinking about don't get me wrong. Oh, now I can bring this up. There was a guy named Roger Rivers and he was thinking about yo, when. When it comes to your goals, your vision and you lock onto it, but then there's a part that you gotta give it to the universe to God, to take care of. And now from there, he says, you don't focus on the goal. You focus on the behavior, cuz the way you behave, the way you act, how serious you take, what you're trying to do, is gonna give you the goal that you want, but just solely focusing. Just the goal can, can set you back a little bit. And I thought it was a dope perspective cuz you know, when we think about right. I think about financial freedom. Right. But, okay. What does someone do that wants to be financially free? Right? He wakes up early. He organizes himself. He acts like he's financially free before he really is, I keep mentioning it's financially free, but like the main thing I want outta everything though, like I wanna be. I wanna be the number one podcaster. I love this shit. I love talking to people and I wanna make an impact, not just income. I wanted to be where I'm really helping people, that my research and all the people I'm introducing and bringing onto the show and just making somebody's day better. Like that's the shit that I, that I mainly strive for. And then be able to show my kids like, yo daddy. He went and got it. So we gotta go get it. And you know what I'm saying? That's not the best fucking motivation is then fuck that. I don't want it.

Herby:

And they're observing everything you do. So they see you day on the mic. They're gonna wanna do that. You know what I'm saying?

Track 1:

They the watcher too. I see you watching me. I see you

Herby:

And they watch everything they do. They're like, yo, oh, that's what he is doing. I wanna do that. And then they're

Track 1:

man,

Herby:

everything you do.

Track 1:

damn man. I used to be like that. I was like that till like I was 30. Every time my father did something, I was like, oh, I'm gonna do like that. Like my father But yeah. And I was like, yo, you 30, bro. You gotta stop that shit.

Herby:

he said, nigga, be competition now.

Track 1:

I'm about to, about to help you with he's about the job of podcasts. and a great thing to do too, is track your progress because right, if you make progress, you wanna know how you did it. You don't wanna make 10,000 and you just made all these moves, but you didn't calculate or really take no what you did to make that 10,000 or make that million. So. Track your progress.

Herby:

yeah.

Track 1:

and this part Herby I can see clearly now the brain is gone. So now you got your vision and what is having your vision right? Having your vision is having, like having your purpose, being clear and you moving forward with it and locking in. one example I wanted to use was Drake but he lives in a house that he put on his vision board. And if you saw the secret, there was a whole bunch of dudes that they said the same shit, but you know what I'm saying? I don't know them dudes. I don't know Drake, but I know Drake more than them dudes like, just to think about him, right, right. He was this character nobody cared for in the grass. And now he was able to brand himself to be one of the best rappers that even his writing is in question that shit didn't affect his career at all. So, yeah. man, visualizing keeping your eyes on the prize no matter it's only a matter of time. And I was saying earlier, you could no longer, you no longer have to separate yourself. From the picture, eventually you in the picture will be one and it won't be exactly how you want it. But example, if you, if your goal was to make a hundred mil, but you made 25, you're gonna be mad. not gonna be mad,

Herby:

No, you gonna, no, you gonna get there,

Track 1:

but don't aim low.

Herby:

out.

Track 1:

Cause you know, what's the power. When you aim low, you usually hit. Shout out to Les brown. I got that from him. I made it look like it was me that sitter, but I I've delivered it better. I'm sorry, Les. I try to do it less.

Herby:

Oh, man,

Track 1:

uh, but yeah, uh, yeah, that's pretty, that's pretty much it, man, I don't, if you wanted to add any more input, but I know it's like, yo, I'm hungry and you know, you're

Herby:

Track 1:

I should have did this first, but as far as having the vision and getting a picture. None of it can happen unless you believe nothing, nothing you do matters unless you believe

Herby:

Yeah, it's the power of faith.

Track 1:

power of faith. And if you believe your actions will be different

Herby:

Mm-hmm

Track 1:

actions are different, you'll be able to commit. And when you are able to commit, you give it more concentration. And discipline. And when it comes to discipline, my brother right here is doc. I call him doctor discipline behind his back. He don't know that's what I call him, but I always respected him. You know what I'm saying? Made her do his bed all the time. Track 1:

Herby:

Uh, how about you man?

Bet bet, but you know how we do. Tom for that final say. And that. It's the rain sometime. But I could see clearly. You need to get to a point where the fearing you feel the, you who faces the fear. Through your development. You'll learn what to do with the negative. see the positive will help you reframe your concept to keep the world in your mind. Intact. Consider it a life hack. Now, back to the vision. It's important. Is immense to your existence. If you see yourself as a winner. You don't need a win the marathon to go to distance. Just picture yourself, living the life you want to live. Do your best not to ignore. What you intend to give to follow through? Like Steph, when he snapped his wrist. Cause and effect vision action at a plan and you got a recipe to make something happen. And you could be laughing. On your way to the bank well, you might bump into 50. But yeah, I want to thank everybody. For joining me on another episode of the Raimundo show. If this was your first time. Welcome. yeah, man, we doing this every week. we keeping it moving. Deepen the positive. And. really. But someone has to make this show the best it can be. So I could feed my family, man, cause. A man who doesn't take care of his family can never be rich. And I'm trying to be. Wealthy in, but I'm trying to be rich in the Bob Marley sense,, why do you mean by that? But yeah, man. Stay safe. I love ya. Peace love Mundo out
