Malcom (2):

Anaxagorou You got to save yourself. Nobody's going to give you anything. You got to go out and fight for it. By Barry Manilow

raymundo-save-me:

Attitude to coves cause. That's how strong are Phil about this? A message. there's all these things that can help you. There's people that can make a difference in your life. But if you're not going to do it for you and you can't do it Can expect anybody else to do it for you? Or you can expect if you have a habit of being that way, that people think you're going to be different and you don't got to do it for those people. You got to show yourself that you're different, that you can do it. And the only way you can do it. It's about taking action and. You know, fight for like, Like like you defending a smaller sibling. Or you've been discriminated Anything of that nature, you got to take it that fucking personal. You've at times we're going to need, Yeah, we go only help everybody needs help. But. Nobody. Wants to feel like they got to take care of you. Especially when you're an adult, man, You can get away with it when you're younger, but the older you get. the less people got time to listen to your stories, man. And you got to change. The way to fucking antagonists. Protagonists moves. And as you. You know what I'm saying? And then fucking, you, you be your own antagonist. That's, what's crazy. Like you be, you play both the roles you'll never, and you ain't even know. But yeah, man, it's my 40th episode. I'm like. Fucking super hype. Like. Uh, I feel like a hundred is around the corner. my ultimate goal was not thousand. Well, let's see how that goes. I just recently celebrated. My two year anniversary doing the podcast. You know how to do a real, uh, little. Evaluation. And I got a lot more work to do. but. I love doing it. So it's just. Figuring it out, how to do it. I got to save my podcasts. That's what I gotta do. I gotta save But anyway, on this episode, Got a special guests. But let's get into So on this episode of the Raymundo Show, we on some hero shit. I ain't gone front. We, you know, already mentioned earlier, we inspired by my son. He gave, he gain glass shots, you know what I mean? but I feel like, you know, I, I've spoken about music, I've spoken about all these things, man, but the superhero world is so part of my life has been part of my life since I had the fucking Batman and Superman bono CEOs, bro. Like, it's been, it's been a long time. but it, this episode I needed my brother, the one that I go to when I need to have a superhero conversation that only he can understand. Even though we, we, we see him differently. We got the same love for him. But this guest, I spoke about him in episode one, the couple that I married, he was on. You Are Not Alone. Part two recorded his ass and he ain't even know But this guy is a great father, great man. He's my, my brother, my, my mentor, my, um, my confidant, I could go on and on. no matter what, he will always be the jeweler. But Let's give it up for Jonathan.

Track 2:

Yo, let me tell you, man, if that's the intro you do for everybody, yo, I'm, I'm here for another two hours because holy shit, that is one fucking amazing intro. Can we curse you. by the way?

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. Oh hell yeah. This

Track 2:

Can we curse? Okay. Are we live right

raymundo-save-me:

You free here, man. This is free.

Track 2:

Wow. Are we live

raymundo-save-me:

right now. No, we

Track 2:

We're not live. but let's make it live.

raymundo-save-me:

live cuz you know, you getting recorded. But

Track 2:

Let me tell you something. This is an honor to be sitting here on this seat, bro, because we are 40 episodes in, and I've seen people that sit here and. the stories that they got to tell. .And if you haven't said it yet, it is a fucking honor to be on this chair in this side of the screen. You understand?

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah, yeah.

Track 2:

it is a fucking honor, bro. Like, I appreciate you, Thank you so much for that. I could commend you for, for doing what you do every day, every week. your listeners are, are, are thanking you because I know there's somebody out there who looks forward to this in, in addition to me. cuz every Monday morning, I open up that podcast app on my 30 minute drive to work and I say, Yo, let me see the next episode.

raymundo-save-me:

It, man. Yo, and,

Track 2:

grateful for being here, so,

raymundo-save-me:

I, And not to mention too, man, like it's an honor have of you on the show. Cause what people don't know behind the scenes, a lot of things that I try differently. A lot of things, you know, in, in my way trying to improve as a podcaster. Jonathan like listens to podcast, so, you know what I mean? I feel like he's like almost like an expert at this shit. Like,

Track 2:

Absolutely, man.

raymundo-save-me:

his, he, he's almost part of the production team and he don't even know it. Like he's behind the scenes there's an episode, there's something I said while I was speaking to him or, and honestly like if it wasn't for him bro, like he's one of the people that like, I don't know if I would've still been doing this shit, man. Cuz it's hard when you start from the beginning, sometimes you lose a little bit. Uh, you lose a little bit of hope, man. But his inspiring words and his, Yo your enthusiasm is on fire, by the way. I'm like I wish I could take a shot or something right now, or some cold beer

Track 2:

I, I'm gonna start it off like this. I don't know if you had already like a lead, But I started off saying like, you know, I started off making jewelry for a living, right? And, um, sitting at a bench, like making jewelry, all day. One thing that you don't know, right? That guy that sits in the back, he wears headphones all day long for eight hours, right? He clocks in, wears fucking headphones and he's gotta listen to something. And one thing that, working with the guys that I work with, coming up, working for these jewelry companies, uh, Howard Stern was huge.

raymundo-save-me:

legend

Genius. Ever since he went Hollywood.

Track 2:

You, walked in a shop with like 10 jewelers and everybody was laughing. At the same time. and. I'm Like, like, what the fuck is everybody laughing about?

raymundo-save-me:

Yo is Boo on the

All right.

raymundo-save-me:

Damn. But yo, but we gotta get into the episode, but

Track 2:

That's true.

raymundo-save-me:

that, can you please tell the people where you from?

Track 2:

Wow. Listen, I'm from a small town. called Bushwick, Right? Grew up on Let's Go. I grew up on Kaco between Bushwick and Broadway. Off the day, Train a block away from EBC High School. Shout out to everybody in EBC High School.

raymundo-save-me:

abc. You know we gotta shot out abc where somebody Well we are. Yeah. Every time somebody from EVC is on here, we gotta make that shit. No, I'm glad you said that, man. Now I wanna speak about modern day heroes while Jonathan shows off his beers. Give me a Cold Bear. yeah, Modern Day Heroes, you know what I'm saying? The heroes that that, that actually weren't, well, they can be written about, but they weren't made up. Uh, at first I wanted to talk about, you know, the essential workers, right? people in the grocery stores,

Track 2:

Nurses,

raymundo-save-me:

people, people in, in, you know, hospitals, nurses, doctors, you know, shout out to my sister Ken Kenya. She was in the front line.

Track 2:

Come

raymundo-save-me:

but anybody that life was at risk,

Track 2:

Yes.

raymundo-save-me:

being outside while that, while that was going on, you know, whether anyone's ever told you or not, yo you a hero, like straight up, like LeBron James jump shot, or, you know what I'm saying? Fucking

Track 2:

That's huge.

raymundo-save-me:

Mayweather's Punch wasn't gonna, wasn't gonna, bring, put food in your crib, wasn't gonna heal. You know what I'm saying? Wasn't gonna make sure your family good, wasn't gonna protect your face. Workers, but another modern for like modern day heroes. Uh, the single parent cause

Track 2:

God. absolutely.

raymundo-save-me:

Cause yo, it is not easy man taking, uh, care of, uh, one baby. Then there, mom's doing it out there with 3, 4, 5. because Right. Yo, um, I know, I know I got twins, but even one of them, you know, is a lot of work. The fact that, you know, me and my girl, we a dream team with it.

Track 2:

Yeah,

raymundo-save-me:

life easiest. So you gotta give a, you know, respect to the Shout out to some I wish, I don't, I can't think of no single moms, but, Oh shit. Damn. But I don't wanna like, let people know she's single. But you know, my sister, she's, yo my sister's living her best life. She's making money. She got the benzo my oldest niece is doing her thing. but we don't want to not give the shout out to, People that are married, you know, like my brother Jonathan, they have a great relationship. I love the way, uh, you know what I'm saying? They raised their kids and show them so much love, man. And they had a highlight of everything,

Track 2:

that.

raymundo-save-me:

and everything, man. Everything they've done from the, from shit from moving, what he decide, you know, what Jonathan decided to do, which we'll get into in a little bit. make sure, you know, his family's secure and then, and they taken care of I definitely, when it comes to being a dad, when it comes to taking care of business, I look up to this guy very much like we the same age, but you know what I mean,

Track 2:

Yeah, man. This is

raymundo-save-me:

look up to him, man. So a

Track 2:

appreciate that. Appreciate that, bro.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah, no, no, problem, man. Um I wanted to talk about too, like parents that like, Like the ones that like, I guess, I don't wanna say go the extra mile, that just go in depth with they shit. You know what I mean? Like, and I'm not saying, you know, I'm not trying to offend any parents, like, but just like me, I'm just trying to use this example. Like right now I can afford to get my kids, you know, like good food, right? But like in the future, I want to be able to grow my own food and be able to feed them organically, you know what I'm saying? Like, so there's parents out there right now that they, kids, God forbid something happen to them, they trust fund is all their life insurance. they don't buy no suites. They don't, you know what I mean? Like, and something as taking the TV out they room. Like when my kids get older, I don't want a TV in they room. If you had what, what they said. Uh, if your entertainment system is bigger than your library, you broke some shit like that. Or maybe I just made it up and it sounds dope.

Track 2:

that

raymundo-save-me:

I don't mean around, but I do it all the time is better than my sign and

Track 2:

Bars

raymundo-save-me:

I do it line after line. All right. But yeah, another modern day. Another modern day hero. Is yo those teachers, man. You know, shout out to my ABC teachers that even though I said fuck school, they was like, Nah, you graduated, you going to do your thing. And teachers don't get paid enough. You don't know that we should pay them a lot. So people can inspire I to want to be teachers. You know what I'm saying? Yo, give me, gimme a teacher that made a, a significance in your life, man. That to this day, you can never forget a,

Track 2:

a, a school.

raymundo-save-me:

All right, let's all, we're gonna for, let's go. Gimme elementary.

Track 2:

Oh, let's go elementary. Oh my God. We got Miss Yo r i p to Mr. Za. My fifth grade teacher, r p to him. I still got his Turtle. 25 years later, So we're still with that.

raymundo-save-me:

Oh, that's

Track 2:

That That's a whole up, That's a whole episode that I can get, Get into. Shout out to Miss Gilby second grade teacher. Shout out to Miss Wal fourth grade teacher. Shout out to, uh,

raymundo-save-me:

Oh wait, I wasn't trying to go through all your grades. I was just saying name one, one highlight of each school. Not Was about to, He was gonna be like, in 10th grade it was Ms. Golden. In 11th grade it was Mr. Casmi.

Track 2:

Got da. Listen Elementary, Ms. Wilkins. Ms. Wilkins, third grade teacher. to this day, I wish I could thank that lady in person. Ms. Wilkins. She made yo she made my elementary school. year, Junior high school, Me and her. B. Shout out at Herbi. Mr. Hava. Mr. Hava.

raymundo-save-me:

Mr. Ha.

Track 2:

let's get to high school. Let's get to high school. Let's get to high school.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. I know this

Track 2:

Ram, Ms. Ramos, Miss River. Yo, I got my first savings bank account. Shout out to Ms.

raymundo-save-me:

yo, I remember that too. She was awesome, man.

Track 2:

Thanks to her. You got of Ms. Golden

raymundo-save-me:

Living my life like Ms. Golden Yo, this, I feel her name is Delilah. Shout out to Delilah. She's not Ms. Golden.

Track 2:

Del.

raymundo-save-me:

Um, but you always me. Oh, Miss Marto. Um, she just, she taught very well. She taught very well. but, um, yeah, let, let me join him in high school. I wanna say for elementary, Ms. McGuire wire and Ms. Potter. Third grade, fifth grade, all the other ones. Well, especially Ms. Smith, she almost left me back. junior high school. In junior high school, there's one teacher that I can, I don't give, I don't get. No, actually no, I'm gonna go with this one. Cause Miss Kirkpatrick, she, she's been fucking up Mr. Antwan, yo. And I went to 2 96. So three four. Now this is 2 96. I was on Dark side here. Mr. Antwan, I don't know. He was a math teacher, man, but he never gave up on me. Like he always, and he remembered me. A lot of teachers don't remember you. in high school's easy. You know what I'm saying? First, you know, Lan, um,

Track 2:

out to

raymundo-save-me:

Lan, Teva Lan, and Teva. Cause I gave them the most trouble and they didn't, and they never gave up on me in Santos.

Track 2:

Shout out to Santo

raymundo-save-me:

Man. Fucking Keith I think he lived so much shit. Sometimes shout out the Vanessa and they got a beautiful family. We had this conversation before the episode, but, uniform heroes, and, you know what I'm saying? I, I wasn't always too thing with the, with the military until like I heard why, he's doing it full time. I mean, we didn't get, well, we didn't get to that, but yeah, he's, he's in the military. I love him. Tell you about it. I always respected why he did it. Like his reason for even getting into it was dope. And, you know, seeing where his life has, has gone from, from there to now, I think it was one of the best decisions he ever made. From the surface we just think about, you know, all the, all the,

Track 2:

Yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

all the, the fire shit, the combat training, shit that I would, that I, that I wasn't at all.

Track 2:

Yeah. you know, you know what? You know what's crazy? that like, I think that I think that's like an American thing. that it's like a stigma that, like we watch these movies, we watch these commercials. and We think like the minute you, you join in the military, like everybody just like everybody just shows shit, Right? And I've heard this from people that I work with and it's like, we think that this is just, that this is the one thing that you do when you join is just, and it's, it's like a yes and no battle. because it's like,

raymundo-save-me:

like

Track 2:

you're trained to do it. And like if you, if you're in that realm, you in that world, you understand infantry. And infantry is like, everybody is trained to shoot, right? You, you join the military get to shoot, like that's your purpose to go overseas to get deployed and then you shoot. That's probably your specialty. Like you could be a mechanic and you're trained to shoot, you could be, um, signal and you're trained to shoot, right? But you're, you're,

raymundo-save-me:

can you be a baker if you, if you trained to shoot

Track 2:

you can be a bigger, but you can be a cook.

raymundo-save-me:

Oh,

Track 2:

and you're trained to shoot.

raymundo-save-me:

you can't be a bacon. I'm gonna send somebody a letter, but go ahead.

Track 2:

so you, you can be a cook, right? You can cook in the kitchen, you can make meals, you can make all of this, you can cook food for, for other soldiers, but you still trained to shoot, right? Cause at the end of the day, you still wear the uniform. Like that's what you're trained to do is trained to shoot, right? trained to kill.

raymundo-save-me:

to kill.

Track 2:

But the thing that you don't understand is like that we all, we watch movies, we watch like these commercials, and it's like, oh, like he's just trained to kill, blah, blah, blah, but everybody has a different job and there's hundreds of jobs in the military and you don't know that until you get in and you join. and You're like, all, right, Well, I want to join to like be a mechanic. I wanna join to work on satellite. I wanna join to work on radios. I want to join to be a cook. And you don't know that until you, you enter that world and you, enter this realm of skills that you start to understand and say like, Okay, like I'm proficient in this. I know how to do this, I know how to do that. And when I, when I first joined, I was like, Oh, Yo, like you, like the minute I go in, I'm they gonna gimme a gun. This is what I'm gonna do. But there's, people active duty that this is like, they're not a five job. That's Like who are they gonna shoot nine to five? Like you going in to come back home at the end of the day, like, you're not going to like, Oh, here's the gun. You're like, you're just gonna, fucking shoot the shit, and you're just gonna go back home. It doesn't work that way. You just gotta get the training to go overseas to make sure that you protect and serve to then make sure you come back home, in time to get back to your family. You understand? there's a lot of shit behind it. And I think that's something that Hollywood leaves out. I, that's something that, TV leaves out That's like there's people that join and serve and they don't see the reason why we do it. They don't see.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah.

Track 2:

jobs that are behind the movement. There's so much more to it. And one thing that I think that we're trying to get to the pointer for the episode is, I, when I got activated, I'm only, I'm in National Guard. I only do, you know, I, I started off as one weekend a month and when I started off it was, you just doing this you're training and you go home by, Sunday done. and, um, Covid happened. And then once Covid happened, it was like, Okay, there's, there's people that, they have to be, versus the hospital, there's people that they can't leave the homes. So they gotta, you know, we gotta bring them food. And there's people that we gotta bring them medicine There's people that. Can't go to the supermarkets to get food, so we gotta give them meals and we gotta give them pantry bags. And then one day he said, Okay, we need people in New Rochelle knew Rochelle was one, one area in New city that really got affected by, Covid. and um, I forget if it was like the council the chairman, the governor, I forget who it was that said like, Okay, we to, um, activate through Westchester and um, get some soldiers that does, you know, start, you know, feeding the community. And, and so like, you know, shout at 95, Lincoln, Shout at

raymundo-save-me:

yo 95 Lincoln

Track 2:

95 Lincoln Avenue, we have given so much food out to New Rochelle that it was like lines around the block. We would Just get shout off to Feeding Westchester. Feeding Westchester. of America. They would come with trucks. They would back it into the driveway, They, we would bring down the pallets. We would break down the we would put em plastic bags and we would give out the bags to this line that we used to wrap around the, building up the block of 95 Lincoln and people would just come to get food, to get Turkey to get, to. Get, uh, uh, vegetables get to cereals, pantry.

raymundo-save-me:

awesome, man. Cuz you know, they seen you in the uniform and they seen you, distribute everything and, the fact that you had the uniform and you were able to help them with something, man. Like, I feel like it's a powerful thing when you, you know, I mean, when you get help by a cop, I would think being in some type of smokey situation, you see that firefighter outfit, you know what I mean? But like I was telling you, the outfit don't make the hero. The hero, the, the, the outfit don't make the hero, the hero make the outfit. yeah, um,

Track 2:

the

raymundo-save-me:

the team, the team, the chain will make the, the chain don't make the man.

maintenance Shane shane don't make the man

raymundo-save-me:

a lot of people that take their job serious and they really want to help people. And every time they put on that uniform, not only do you re not only do you respect them, but they respect themselves.

Track 2:

Yeah, for sure.

raymundo-save-me:

just a outfit can make the difference of how you see somebody. So,

Track 2:

That's insane.

raymundo-save-me:

and what you can get from that is a outfit can make you really feel good about yourself.

Track 2:

Absolutely. Like we were just giving, away plastic bags with, with, with goodies you know, like we were giving away goody bags. And to think that like, people would look at us and be like, Yo, like they're wearing uniform, They're giving us a bag like full of veggies and and pantry food. And, and I'd just be like, Oh my God. like, they think I know the, answers to shit. And I don't know where the answers are. Shit, I'm just here to give away bags.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. And, but you know what? You didn't have the answers, but you being there gave them hope.

Track 2:

That's it.

raymundo-save-me:

And it's crazy, man. That's why, that's why, you know, shout out to, you know, everybody who puts on the uniform and, and goes out there and risks their lives. You know, and, and, and they're not only the heroes cuz they put their life on the line, but they're the heroes because they got family waiting for them to come back home and

Track 2:

Absolutely. Absolutely. Listen, Shout out to the 360 9 that just left on Sunday. they just left, to, They just left overseas on Sunday. They, they left the whole family behind. They're gonna go out for a year then we're gonna take over their time.

raymundo-save-me:

That's crazy, man. So,

Track 2:

That just.

raymundo-save-me:

sacrificing what you wanna do for the, either the better of, you know, people in general, the, or the betterment of your family. You a fucking hero. I ain't gonna front just the mo the main point I'm trying to get to the show is that you can be your own hero. I know it starts from being inspired, by someone. That's hero like, or heroic or brave or courage or just does something that you felt was impossible. But they're the ones doing it and that's why we fall in love so much with, you know, superheroes that are, that are fake cuz oh man, they're doing so they're doing all these things. I mean that to us are impossible. But, so I gonna, from the conspiracy guy in me makes me think the Star Wars and all that shit is the real shit. And all the other, the real, you know, the other shit is the bullshit. Cuz if I go outside to try to get a girl and, and I have that boombox, she's either gonna call the police or she's gonna send her cousins to come outside and fuck me up. Cause ain't nobody that, you know what I'm saying? Oh, the name was, you saw what happened, the other, what I said earlier in the story. But, um, but I, yeah, I guess the point I wanted to drive with these qualies

Track 2:

yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

about modern day heroes, that we can see, or we know my brother but it is, you can save you

Track 2:

Yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

whether it's if you're dependent on somebody when it comes to finances, you can put a plan together to get your finances in order. There's so many videos, there's so much information out there that. and fuck waiting for opportunity. You sometimes you gotta go get that shit and, you know what I'm saying, Save yourself financially. Which I feel like you can relate into that because I feel like, I don't know, ever since shit we got outta high school, I don't remember. You never having a job. Never. Like you always make sure that you are not gonna be in a position where you can't make money or not gonna have money coming in. Which, which I feel like where you've been, you've been so consistent of, um, always loving it up. And, you know, he got great ke he got his credit, his his grade too. Man, don't let him, don't let him Don't let him think. It's not But experience, you got the, I feel like you saved yourself financially. You never had to call me and ask me for money. You never had to depend on nobody in your family or anybody in your circle for money. No one ever had to worry about Jonathan being the friend that they have to worry about paying for him at a re.

Track 2:

Wow.

raymundo-save-me:

And you know, it's important. You don't wanna be that friend, man, I'm that fucking friend. I'm gonna keep it a buck. Like, not always. Sometimes I got my duckers in order, but

Track 2:

Nah. no, no, no. You never, you,

raymundo-save-me:

But to me, to me, I feel like I'm always the friend that's like, he's either trying to figure it out financially or he figured out for a short time and now he's back on the way to being or unsure man.

Track 2:

That's, that's crazy. That's crazy that you mentioned that because I, I've Never even, like, that's, that's never even been like a thought in my mind.

raymundo-save-me:

Cause you just,

Track 2:

like,

raymundo-save-me:

you can almost see it way back. So you, you always beat it to the punch. know? Even, um, when you got that fucking studio apartment, man, I was real proud of you. I was really proud of you when you got the, when you yo, when you got the hoopty, when you got the studio, When you move with Susie, like, you know what I'm saying? you know what you going to do. And I feel like you probably didn't even notice to this episode, bro. You and your own hero bro. You've been saving yourself for the long. I know You get help from people. You know, we all get help. We all need help from people, but you've been saving yourself. And it's crazy. if so many people, I mean, if people really realize that this, the things that they can, they could control, can make the difference in their lives. So, you know what I'm saying? We gotta give you a

Track 2:

Let me tell you

raymundo-save-me:

that somebody puts it out, listen.

Track 2:

big shout out to the Raymundo show because big shout out to the Raymundo show because you, you fucking given me light right now. Like, I don't, I've never seen the, what you've just spoken of. In, in, in light, you know? And

raymundo-save-me:

it's real shit.

Track 2:

It's real shit because holy shit. like,

raymundo-save-me:

He's in like, Yo, it was them. BIS or whatever. Fuck you been drinking.

Track 2:

I wish it was, I wish it was, but you, you really, you speaking real shit right now. I don't know what you're smoking right now, but

raymundo-save-me:

up in here. Here.

Track 2:

is real shit, bro. Like,

raymundo-save-me:

To realize on a, on a, on the episode that you've been your own hero. So you already setting the, you already setting the temple up for, for Amazing and Max. So by the time, by the time they get to see this or hear this or you, I know you gonna be in a whole nother place. Cause history shows you got foresight, so you'll be on some whole other shit by time to get older. But to keep continuing about saving yourself, saving yourself emotionally, you know, not being around people that make you feel like shit, that don't bring you

Track 2:

right,

raymundo-save-me:

don't make you feel good about yourself. When you don't feel good and you know what, not that they need to do it, but doing that is part of the, and that's one thing that me and my brother share. know what I'm saying? We are great at things. We see the potential. But sometimes when you are in the middle, you two, uh, what's the word? You too self-conscious. And sometimes you need your friend to tell you, nigga, yo, you fire you. Dope. Like, when, when Jonathan gives me an insight of the episode or something I did that I thought was like, nonchalant, he was like, Yo, the way you said walk that is, was like, You really meant it

Track 2:

what you are doing. You're doing the Lord's work. You're doing Lord's work. Cause it is incredible for You to just make this shit happen. And realize, like, I've been listening to podcasts 2012 when I used to tell people yo, like you should listen to podcast, you listen to this, this and that. like, what the fuck is that? Like I'm still listening to Howard Stern. And for you to just do it the way that you do it and the way that you're trying to beagle and find out how to word things And, and the chemistry. is Like, don't stop doing it.

raymundo-save-me:

I won't brother, I

Track 2:

Don't stop. Because when you stop, that's when you fail.

raymundo-save-me:

That's the only time you really fail is when you

Track 2:

when you stop,

raymundo-save-me:

cause Cause

Track 2:

you don't, it's like you plant a seed in the soil and then you stop watering it,

raymundo-save-me:

it's gonna

Track 2:

not going,

raymundo-save-me:

Mm-hmm. But that same soil, You could replant the seed. I don't even know if you could do that. I just, I sounded like I

Track 2:

No, you could plant the seed. but You already planning the seed. Just keep ordering it.

raymundo-save-me:

Just keep watering it. Nah,

Track 2:

it

raymundo-save-me:

not heavy.

Track 2:

get it. You see what I'm saying? So don't stop, don't stop ordering it. You got the seed in the ground.

raymundo-save-me:

there, man.

Track 2:

Keep ordering it, bro.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah,

Track 2:

you got it. You got it.

raymundo-save-me:

Eventually that shit gonna sprout.

Track 2:

It's, got it. it's there. It's there.

raymundo-save-me:

It's, it's gonna be beautiful, man. I like that you used that, that, that would hit my brain late.

Track 2:

It is beautiful, bro. You're doing a beautiful thing. You're doing a beautiful thing. Don't stop. I want my episode to be a, uh, a revisit 135 episodes in and be like, yo Reba, 35 episodes. ago when, You know, we had Jonathan in, Oh shit. Like, we don't even talk about that. We, we out

raymundo-save-me:

Yo, you know what's crazy?

Track 2:

Don't

raymundo-save-me:

The, the hundredth episode is, is projected to be here next, well, 2023.

Track 2:

look at that.

raymundo-save-me:

December. The 50th episode is dropping on my mother's birthday, Yeah, man. But, um, yeah, man, like, like, like Diddy said, man, it's 10 years and we still running this motherfucker

Track 2:

Duty's. Go

raymundo-save-me:

long, as, long as you, like Jonathan says, as long as you keep wording that plant,

Track 2:

keep ordering

raymundo-save-me:

you know what I'm saying? As only a matter of time, before you can experience your growth and be able to see it, you know, it takes bamboo five years, to be fully developed. But you know what happens when that shit is fully developed is one of the strongest, you can make fucking so many different things from Bamboo, but you need those five years and some, you know, I know we want it to be faster than five years, but it needs to be as long as it needs to be until you get where you need to get. And I just fucking love that. but yeah, man. we wrapping this up, man. Pretty much you wanna be your own hero, man. You wanna be proud of you. having the respect of you do what you say and you say what you do will give you like a respect. not only from yourself, but from the people that, that you love and admire or you know what I'm saying? Even that's how your idols become your rivals. They fucking respect you you know what I mean? Like, I know Star Trek, they've gone where none had gone before, but where few have gone before. Cuz all the distractions and all the hurdles and ob objections, the ones that do the, you know, that, that make it are the ones that's ready to be ready to do the stuff that everybody don't want to do. Or even the stuff that doesn't even feel counterintuitive to them or kind of productive. and most importantly, when you become your own hero, take care of you. You don't need anybody outside of you to make sure that you are good. And there's nothing like that peace of mind. I don't gotta be on some lowest lane shit and put myself in situations where I know I'm good cuz Superman gonna save me. Nah, you be your own Superman. If you are a woman, you'll be your own, uh, Wonder Woman. Shout out the susu. You heard shit and you know, when it comes to brand, you know what I'm saying? You gotta be your own fucking Ted b Beyonce, you know what I'm saying? Money. Money. That's a wrestling No, that's a re that's a wrestling term. I couldn't think of anybody who, with money yet. But,

The equity. More Mundo after this commercial break. Was good. Yeah. I'm proud and happy to announce that. All three Patrion tears is up. Each with its own. Per can benefit. You want more moon? No, you get more mono. virtual version. I tried to be a little bit reserved. You know, on the regular platforms. But each. T it puts you more in depth. With who I am and where I'm at to go. So. Sign up to the show. Go to www.patrion.com. A forward slash the Raimundo show. Sign up is pretty easy. yeah. And I'll see you there don't just meet me there. Greet me So Snoop dog But anyway back to the show

raymundo-save-me:

I wish I could think of a character that was like a hero in the book right now. But, um, uh, yeah, that's pretty much, um, Oh, oh, oh, definitely. Can you please let it give us a, a character

Track 2:

Yo, lemme tell you something about Batman, bro. We're gonna talk about Batman and, uh, I think this is, this is, this episode has been trying to happen for a long time between you and I and, um, this is a character that I think grew up in your life and my life. And, um, you know, it's somebody that just, we hold close to our heart because

raymundo-save-me:

Cause

Track 2:

It, we talk about, Michael Keaton, You know, we talk about from Michael Kean to Ben, like,

raymundo-save-me:

Yo, Yo, I mean, you meet from Robert Patterson. You, you can't be,

Track 2:

So, Robert Patterson, my, well, my fault, Excuse me.

raymundo-save-me:

to Batman, bro.

Track 2:

Stir, Stir. Robert Paterson.

raymundo-save-me:

Sir Robert Patterson

Track 2:

let me tell you. And we just, we just lost the beautiful Queen Elizabeth, right? That Sure. Adam West to be Batman. She saw it. Adam West, Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Fucking Val Kilmer, Uh,

raymundo-save-me:

to mention. she saw the Batmans. We don't know who the fuck they are. You know who, what I'm talking about. The ones with the, with the Halloween fucking seat, the the party Fair Fucking Batman,

Track 2:

the.

raymundo-save-me:

I forgot. We're looking up. But

Track 2:

We gotta like that up. Yo. It's like there's been a lot of Batmans and ev and every generation gets their own version and you know, we attach ourselves to, to this character. And it's so crazy because, you know, we see these like, oh, this is a superhero from a comic book and a cartoon. Like this is little kid shit. And then you see like grown ass men, like, just still so passionate about, you know, we just celebrated Batman Day and everybody like, What the fuck are you celebrating Batman Day before? Like, yo, like these are things that we could, these moments that we could pass down to our kids. And this is like what we grew up with, It's a character that I relate to that I can never let go. And uh, everybody that knows me knows like I'm So attached to that man. so are you? You know, that's something that bring

raymundo-save-me:

of course, man.

Track 2:

together.

raymundo-save-me:

Oh, yeah, I mentioned that I'm gonna do other podcasts and eventually, uh, me and John think gonna do, you know, it's funny, I feel weird calling him Jonathan, cuz I usually call him Pip, but,

Track 2:

I think I love that title a couple years ago,

raymundo-save-me:

right? I

Track 2:

I know

raymundo-save-me:

knows like why he's calling you that, why he's

Track 2:

why calling you

raymundo-save-me:

on the podcast though. Not on the podcast. Oh man. Um, yeah, but we going do a, a, a podcast strictly dedicated to Badman, so, you know what I'm saying? We getting, we can explore all types of shit. Cuz when it comes to Batman, he got so many layers. You can find different ways to really, bring out what's great about the character, why everybody gravitates towards him. Which, leads me to the next point where, I was just talking about like reading, like, you know, when you read a book in school,

Track 2:

God. Babe. Thank you so much. You're, um, this episode is brought to you by delirium.

raymundo-save-me:

there, so I wish I had some beer, man. Now I'm feeling like I'm feeling like Efn and, and you, me and Efn had the water nigga, and I had the beer. I was like, shit

Track 2:

Damn. Oh man.

raymundo-save-me:

But yeah, my, my hero was Badman and I wanna say my hero was Badman because he didn't have powers. You see he had the ladies, you know what I'm saying? I

Track 2:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

raymundo-save-me:

I mean, you don't notice until you older, but his mind was his greatest strength and he has like a lot of dope qualities that, that even in real life, if you try to mimic it, can help you with your life. So I wanted to cover those, uh, with my brother Jonathan, which is the Batman qualities that fit reality, right? So one of the things Batman is, is known for is he's You know what I'm saying? If he's gonna get some the get poison ivy, He became a plant expert to be, to get the joker. He had a, he had to stop you know what I'm saying? To get the joker, he had to think like someone who sadistic, someone who psychotic And for the real, he probably the really just probably pissed him off cuz this motherfucker with them questions, bro. I would've been tight. I'm like, yo,

Track 2:

yo, you got win question.

raymundo-save-me:

more. Yo, if he asked me one more question, what's, what's his real name? I always good Ed would've ni my yo if Equa and Nma hits me one more time with this question. Yo. Wait, wait. Before I ask you this question though, but like, in Batman, Batman forever, you don't think that was like, you know, when they figured out the, in the, in the end E they're like b e ema. That's it.

Track 2:

That was two hours and 46 minutes long. I'm mad that they took him that long to figure out. Enigma was Enigma. Why

raymundo-save-me:

There was like a nma, um,

Track 2:

Um, lemme tell you. I look, we still gonna give him the credit. He is the greatest detective. He is the greatest detective. But Robin Patson, he had to guess that question a little bit. Five seconds too late. Like you have to, He had to speed that up, man.

raymundo-save-me:

it didn't match what I, you know, my expectation. Right? Like, I'm like, he did some detective shit, you know? You know, he answered the question the beginning. He did the sc, you know what I mean? But like

Track 2:

it's gotta be. But like the, the

raymundo-save-me:

like, he's dead alive

Track 2:

what upset me was that I figured the question out before Edward Paterson did what? I was watching the movie, I'm like, Bro,

raymundo-save-me:

He,

Track 2:

out 30 seconds ago,

raymundo-save-me:

he took Edward and Nma and the guy who plays Batman and made him and named them Edward Patterson

Track 2:

I was so mad.

raymundo-save-me:

Now, but speaking of Batman's determination, man, like,

Track 2:

Yes, Yes.

raymundo-save-me:

who outta all his villains? Who you think he had to be the most determined like to get? Cause and he has a, he has a crazy catalog of villains.

Track 2:

a crazy catalog. I mean, I'm you talking about the joker number one? You, you talking about the Scarecrow, you talk about Edward Nema, who keeps him on his feet as a detective.

raymundo-save-me:

The scare. Yeah, the scare. You know why the scare is tough? Because he could turn Batman into a punk in seconds

Track 2:

Yo be with the fear, just Theia. And, not to mention the fact that like his whole role as Badman is based on fear. Like Going out there to fight crime, you know, because he can't Let this happen again. This is a little boy who's scared cuz he lost his parents when he was 12, 13 years old and he's fighting crime every night. So that another little boy doesn't ha the same shit. Doesn't happen.

raymundo-save-me:

Right. that's part of his vendetta.

Track 2:

that's the part, his vendetta and it, it never ends, you know? And then you get into like the psychological shit. Like, it's like, all right, well this guy's fighting crime forever because that's never gonna go away. So like, what's he stopping? You know? So it's like, it's a.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. That's crazy. I never looked at it like that. Like he's, it's like he can't do it, but I feel like the way he feels better about what happened to him is that, that that's his, what you call it, that's his outlet. what. But what you mentioned though, which since we talking about the qualities, fear, right? I, that's always my signature question. usually when I have a guest, what role does fear play in your life? And Batman wears the suit. He his suit. Like example, if, if it wasn't for fear, there would be no Batman. Like when you really thinking of, you know, from a perspective like he needed, his parent needed to die, for him to have the fear for it to happen to anyone else, Right. I guess he didn't really know who he was. And then when he turned his fear into the symbol that he was gonna use to strike, I don't want to use fear again, but to strike, you know what I'm saying? Terror. And, and, and, and those that know, if I use my fear to scare people, I would, I would be Spider-Man cause I'm fucking terrified of fucking spider as bro

Track 2:

I think, um, just using it in that context and out of the Batman two hero contacts, I think fear is. I think, I think it's a necessity in a sense. Um, because you know, A lot of people are driven. from fear. and but without, without fear. I think a lot of people can't drive that steering wheel into

raymundo-save-me:

into

Track 2:

rolled that path. And I think, um, you had a guest in episode 35 who actually press that button, right? Um, I forget his name. He

raymundo-save-me:

Cheatham.

Track 2:

Jin treating, but he's, he really said something that um, relates to this, episode and it's

raymundo-save-me:

Oh yeah. He said fear is in the driver's seat

Track 2:

is in the driver's seat. If you're not brave enough to to face your fears, I don't know if, if, if you can drive that steering wheel, you can drive that vehicle. You can't steer that steering wheel because what, That's one thing that can motivate you, to pursue the things that you don't think you are capable of doing. you know, And it's like, you know, perfect example, you know, you jumped off a plane, you know, and that's, that's a fear that everybody that jumps off a plane before they jump off. But something drove you to that. Right. And I bet you the head was fear. I.

raymundo-save-me:

exactly the, the, the thing that knowing that something makes me feel that uncomfortable, I figured the best way to go to it is to do the most uncomfortable version of that fear. Which is like, I mean, ain't nobody jumping outta space That's some whole, not maybe the year 3022

Track 2:

Although there was that guy from that Red Book commercial that did jump off like some level, some

raymundo-save-me:

I, I, I saw that, man, I remember that shit. Damn. I might have to put that in the clip. Yo Herby put that in the clip. Oh yeah. He's still not, he's still not working with niggas. Fuck Yo, shout out to my brother.

Track 2:

Yo, shout out to.

raymundo-save-me:

Um, yeah, but, but like overall, man, like, like without fear, I feel like there wouldn't be a reason to level up a reason to, to be better. To, like even to evolve, to transform the fear of never being your best, the, the fear of loss. When it, when it comes to fear, like the main thing is laws you fear of losing, you fear, not being good, letting something happen again. You know what I mean? It's just,

Track 2:

Just, just, And, and that's, that's a good point that you bring up because, um, This thing that you're facing right now is something that everybody goes, through.

raymundo-save-me:

and you think you the only one until you talk to somebody like, yo, I'm scared too. just like, like, No matter how many times you parallel, you still gonna feel that little nervousness was when they all looking out the window. But you still gotta yo, but you still gotta park. And after you finish parking, even after you feel uncomfortable, you know what? You fucking did it. And now you can go inside after you've been walk, you've been driving around for an hour and a half looking for some goddamn parking

Track 2:

Oh my God. And that, and see and then, and that's when you face your fears, that satisfaction at the end of the road, that's the light at the end of the

raymundo-save-me:

it really is. Yeah.

Track 2:

Like, Yo. like I faced my fears. I made, I did, I did this achievement. I, I I endured And I'm able to go on and live the next day to face it, you got. out of bed outta your comfortable bed, nice and cozy, cotton fucking smell and fresh. Like Downey, You got on that tree with a bunch of assholes and then you went to work. You got there, you came back home in one piece. That's commendable. you just, face your fears. And That's one, one example of all the shit that we all as, Listen, New Yorkers,

raymundo-save-me:

We worry all the time, especially in the train. I don't know, man, After Covid shout.

Track 2:

that takes a Jay train.

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. Shout out to the jade train. next stop. Casky, Huke Street.

Track 2:

You go

raymundo-save-me:

Um,

Track 2:

a Z?

raymundo-save-me:

to take what you said and, and piggyback off it pretty much, when you, when you fear something and you do it, I feel like that's the real you, That's when you, that's when you really see what you made of. Right. Oh, and this is how I'm gonna end it with fear. Right.

Track 2:

If I could make it here, I could make it anywhere. My phone.

raymundo-save-me:

If I can make, This is how Amanda with fear, Right. Um, everybody, experiences it. It's, it is the only thing that allows us to raise ourself to new heights. Right. And what's dope is. What makes someone brave? The word brave, the word courage can be experienced if you not feeling fear, if you're not scared, if you're not nervous. And what makes that world word complete is that you feel those things and you still do them.

Track 2:

Yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

got a job interview, you scared as fuck that you going fuck up, but you went and did it and then you knew it. Instead of staying home, not getting the job, you gave yourself the opportunity. You didn't wanna go to that audition cuz you scared that you going to bomb. At least now someone might be there that might use you for another role, or you might actually get the role that you went, went out for. Like, you never know. it could be as simple as work or as it, it could be as complex as pushing yourself to the limit like I did when I jumped off that plane. You know what I mean? So, but as far as, as far as to, to go to another Batman quality, he's always prepared.

Track 2:

Readiness is big Read, readiness is big. Let me tell

raymundo-save-me:

yellow. Fuck that, Huh?

Track 2:

Listen, readiness is huge. Like this, this man is always ready. He's got his little utility bowel. His Batmobile is fully loaded with, with gas. He probably uses diesel fuel, right? I don't think he uses regular guy. I don't think he,

raymundo-save-me:

You think that's a V6 or magic

Track 2:

think that's a big thing. I think he uses diesel fuel. yeah. It like, like readiness is, is, is, you know, that's, he's always prepared. And I think, as a person that wakes up every morning. you know, There's one thing that I, that that

raymundo-save-me:

the most organized person. He's one of the most organized people I know

Track 2:

and and I don't know if that's because I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, thank you for that. I Appreciate you, But I don't know if that's Like I, I still have to be diagnosed with like O C D I don't know if.

raymundo-save-me:

he got his socks for Wednesday already on

Track 2:

I,

raymundo-save-me:

on the bed, ready to go.

Track 2:

I, I just felt little this morning. Listen, listen, this, I had a friend Daniel Torres, shout out to Daniel Torres. Man, I, I hope, I hope he's watching this. I met him in P 74. There was one thing that he showed me every day, and it was on his left pocket. It was a wallet and on his right pocket was the keys, to the crib.

raymundo-save-me:

Mm-hmm. He tell you always keep your phone, wallet and keys

Track 2:

No, no, No, no. Like we were fucking 12 years old, like. We were young, but it was like, he would always had a thing, like he had his keys to the house and I was like, Oh shit. Like he's got keys to the house. Like, I need keys to my house. So I got keys to my house and he had a wallet where he, I don't know, we had fucking a dollar and like, I don't know, candy receipts. But it was like, just the fact that he did that every morning, I, I was like, Yo, I need, I need to, like, this makes sense to me. Like I need I need the cash, I need the keys, and I need the chap stick. Right? Because like, we still,

raymundo-save-me:

the keys, the wallet, the house, everything. The car,

Track 2:

But it, it, it was that, that like method of like, thinking of like, I can't walk out without these things because these are the tools, that I need to carry on the day. Like, I need my keys to. get back home. I need my chapstick. Cuz I got big fucking lips. I got, I need, you know, I need my wallet to pay for candy. But it was like these little things that like, just I grew up with and it is part of just being ready, Like being ready. Like I can't walk out the house with my phone now. I can't, walk out the keys. Like, I haven't forgotten my phone in like 10 fucking years because I know like, this is one of my tools that I need to get through the day. So it's like if I don't, have these things, So basically going back to Batman, it's like, okay, he's got a little. Utility belt, the Batmobile, he's ready to go fight crime, we can't go fight crime. and we don't have these things in our pockets. Right. Why are you gonna walk there without money? The minute you walk out the door is already you down hundred.

raymundo-save-me:

Wait, wait, wait, wait. I got it. You not doing yourself any justice if, uh, you don't carry around your tools.

Track 2:

You need your utility.

raymundo-save-me:

You need your, yo, think about it, right? and a lot of, I feel like a lot of people do a Batman. He looks at the, the, the situation from all angles. I feel like what's, what are the good things that can happen? What are the bad, what are the bad things, the possibilities? What are their weaknesses? What are their strengths? And I feel like you need to do that with the things that you're trying to take serious. Right? When example, Okay, I wanna be a salesman, or whatever the fuck you wanna be. You can't, you, you can't, you can't be on some, It's only, I'm only gonna think about the positive stuff when you really consider factors that won't work out good, you are able to come up with like, answers to your objections that what, what they call in sales, right? okay, if, if I don't get this job, boom, then I know that I can go on Craigslist and they always hiring for this, like just everything. you know, does the company really pay well? Does this, you know what I'm saying? Or if you go into an interview, you know, you, you found out that the person interviewing loves the giants.

Track 2:

Right,

raymundo-save-me:

what I mean? Like, like

Track 2:

Yeah. You're gonna use that You're gonna use that to be like, Yo, why

raymundo-save-me:

yeah. Or you hear something that the percentage of people that go to a certain place, Get mugged or whatever, like, you know what I'm saying? You that would make you make sure you carry your maze. I'm trying to make the point that, whether it's work, whether it's family, whatever the situation is, be prepared and factor in all the things that can happen. So you, not certain things, I mean certain things, you're gonna be surprised, but you know, you'll be able to handle them better if you can see them coming.

Track 2:

Absolutely.

raymundo-save-me:

But pretty much be ready so you don't have to get ready. The more you know,

Track 2:

in addition to what you were saying, like, not just like tools and stuff, but like, I think mentally and physically, like, I think you gotta be prepared to go out there because you don't know, what you're dealing with. You don't know who you're coming across. Like you gotta be mentally prepared to address anybody, to just face anybody, and I think that's a whole conversation on its own, you know, mental health, you know, I know that's something big that you think you make

raymundo-save-me:

of course, of course. We always got time for mental health,

Track 2:

mental health. is huge. Is huge. So I think, um, just part of readiness, I think, I think mental health, just talking to somebody, making sure that, your, your psyche is is, is in control. You know, like you Just having to just be grounded into making sure that like, not just you you're good, but like the people that you may come across today. you're well aware like everybody's a hundred percent out there. you know, and you may come across a person that, not a hundred percent, and you don't know how to face that, but you gotta be prepared to face those kind of people, you, know? And, um, that's something that, you know, it, it, it's all part of being prepared of like facing the world, just being open to the world. and being to these people who are going through things that you may not understand, you know?

Malcom:

AFTER A QUICK BREAK Guess who's making a stop at the Ramono show?

Track 2:

Baby.

raymundo-save-me:

Say what up,

Track 2:

Hi. Hi baby. How's it going?

raymundo-save-me:

I'm hoping I could be this guy's hero, or I can damn the,

Track 2:

he is door. Perfect timing. Perfect timing.

raymundo-save-me:

another dope quality that he has is that he's rich

Track 2:

Oh,

raymundo-save-me:

and, Yeah. And Mo and the thing about money, man, that's it, you know, is what make the world go round. I don't care how, I mean, unless you ready to live off the grid, you gonna need that brand And it, like you can help so many people with your words, you know, they say the best things are free,

Track 2:

Mm-hmm.

raymundo-save-me:

but things like hospitals, groceries, things of that sort don't care about what you gotta say, they just care about what, what you going to pay So, you know what I mean? I think, I mean, could there be a Batman? With no bread? Yeah. But it would be a very cheap version of what we get to see now. You know what I mean? Saying like, his bats might be a hoopty. His plane might be a fucking glider. and his motorcycle might be an electric scooter.

Track 2:

You live in a parking project, you gotta cut

raymundo-save-me:

they gonna know he's bad, man. They were like, Batman. That motherfucker live on a 12 floor.

Track 2:

floor.

raymundo-save-me:

Oh, in the fifth, fifth. five. Like, you, you can do good, right? You, you could get a lot done, but eventually you gonna need some funds, You're gonna need something. if you're financially free, right? You could spend a lot more time with your family. You could do all these things, right? So pretty much in whatever you're trying to do, whether you're trying to do whatever the, you're trying. You know, explore a different career, you know what I mean? Or business, um, or even your job. You can use things to just make, you could just use money to make everything better. Not, but not depend on it either. It's not that you need it to make it

Track 2:

Right,

raymundo-save-me:

it's just, it's just the cherry on top like you doing all the other stuff. Cuz you can have money and be miserable. So

Track 2:

when it comes to Batman, right? Like he's got all the gadgets, he's got all the cars, he's got all the cool equipment.

raymundo-save-me:

all the women

Track 2:

and yeah, like, it, it, that that's defined by money because he's, he could afford all these cool toys. But I think what we love about Batman, it's not the cool toys, but it's, more about

raymundo-save-me:

nah, I think it's the cool toys.

Track 2:

is the cool toys. You think so? Cause you can collect the

raymundo-save-me:

no, no. It's part of it. It's the, it's part of it. You know what I mean? Because, I even get forward to looking through the guy. You know, I look forward to seeing what Ga Jay's gonna have.

Track 2:

Listen, He's got the gadgets, he's got the money to afford the toys and the cool shit. I think it's the deep down of. His end goal, he goes out at night to fight crime, to try to, avenge his parents to be a kid again. And I think us as human beings, as men, as you know, when we grew up to be, you know, boys you know, raising families, raising kids, raising children.

raymundo-save-me:

No. Raising Canan,

Track 2:

raising kids, right? Um, I think that we look at Batman in that, sense of like, He doesn't give up, he doesn't give up into the things that he wants to do. And not so much as us, you know, getting vengeance, but it's more of like the determination as men as a Bruce Wayne who goes out at night to fight crime. We go and grab our baby as the wife is just making milk or putting him to sleep in bed at night is what? says it's that's us as Bruce Wayne who are determined to raise these kids, you know, to, to, to be better. man. To be.

raymundo-save-me:

don't want Bruce Wayne to be your dad, though, you ain't never gonna see Luke

Track 2:

Oh, you never see him like yo, it's my dad, he wants to get moved. Nah, he's out there fine crying. He's gonna be back by

raymundo-save-me:

deal, this fucking guy. But, um,

Track 2:

God, you got a black eye.

raymundo-save-me:

Outta all these qualities, which you feel, which one you feel is probably like, like the most, like the nuclear is the main one.

Track 2:

Wow. that's a lot of qualities. Uh,

raymundo-save-me:

but I'm gonna have to say nothing to me. I don't know. Nothing comes together. Cause there's other stuff that I mentioned that we can't talk about cuz we, we, we will be here ever. Like Batman, he has an obsession, right? This, this gave him on the, he's obsessed. He's probably, he's more Batman than he is. Bruce Wayne. Like Bruce Wayne is actually,

Track 2:

Yeah. That's the, that's the cover.

raymundo-save-me:

that's his cover up.

Track 2:

Yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

know what I mean? So

Track 2:

can I pick one or do I, can I pick more than one?

raymundo-save-me:

I would say

Track 2:

Pick

raymundo-save-me:

know, like the top three. Like,

Track 2:

I got a top three for

raymundo-save-me:

right, gimme the top three. Run, run it.

Track 2:

Top three. Top three right? now is discipline, determination, and readiness. You can't, if you don't have any discipline, bro, I, I feel Like, you, you can't get any wing life. Like you need to have discipline. you need to have a way to say like, this is what I want, This is where I want to get to. Like, I'm gonna knock out a hundred pushups today. I'm gonna do it before Brexits, before lunch, before dinner. That's the discipline. I'm gonna stick to this schedule. This is what I'm gonna do done. If you don't have that discipline to say like, I'm not going to eat this, I'm not gonna eat that for lunch today. I'm gonna skip this, I'm gonna do that. If you don't have that discipline like that, that fucks up your whole your whole, you like Your whole person. Like everything that you're trying to do, that you're trying to be, that you're trying to fight for. If you don't have to, I can't wake up. at 7 55 to make it to my car at eight o'clock, so make it to work on. I can't do that. I gotta force, myself to wake up at a certain time to get to work. So if I don't have any discipline, it's, not gonna work out. You know what I mean? Like, if I can't, I can't wake up at, at, at seven 15 to say like, Oh, I'm okay. I'm gonna wake up my kid cuz he gotta make it to the bus on time. If I'm not disciplined, I'm gonna fail him. So I need discipline. That's, that's key. That's number one. Determination is It's it is number two. That's number two. Like I can't, I can't dedicate any goals to, myself if I'm not gonna walk that journey to. get there. So I need Determination. I need to know, like, this is what I want. this is what I wanna Do at by the end of the week. I need, to do that. and let me tell you something, this is not, something that I live by. I don't want, I'm not gonna hear sit here and say like, Yeah, I got, I got all three, I got all, all top three. Like, it doesn't work that way. Like I'm, I'm battling this shit the way that you are, the way that everybody, the whole audience is, you know what I'm saying? Like, but it's, it's a key that we have to, live. Like, It's like we need these,

raymundo-save-me:

It's like we

Track 2:

these keys to, to get through, to get to where we wanna be. And if you don't have, this information, if you don't have discipline, if you don't. All these little keys that man follows it, It is gonna be difficult to get there, cause ain't nobody gonna tell you to get there.

raymundo-save-me:

That's a fact, man. If you got a Batman, determination is discipline. Um, but for me,

Track 2:

Hold on, let me see. Can I say the last

raymundo-save-me:

Oh yeah, Yeah. You, you got one more game.

Track 2:

Just writing this, Just, readiness. just I could say it as physically and mentally tough and ready. Willing, and

raymundo-save-me:

Nice.

Track 2:

mentally tough. You gotta go out there physically and mentally tough. especially if you grew up in Bushwick you already know,

raymundo-save-me:

cause niggas

Track 2:

especially if you grew up. If you go out and you grew up in Bushwick, you gotta be physically and mentally tough and you know you gotta come with it. You understand Like you gonna hop on that day train, You gotta be physically at the tough cuz somebody may not be in a good mood today and you Holding on onto the wrong bar.

raymundo-save-me:

And another reason why readiness is important, right? Cause what success is when preparation meets opportunity. And if you're ready, guess what?

Track 2:

Wow.

raymundo-save-me:

And you know, and you know what? Not for nothing. You can never truly be ready though. I, I don't, I I think it's just the word we play around with or something. But you never really ready I feel like you never really ready, You only know that you're gonna, that you're, that you're willing to act

Track 2:

right. That you're absolutely right because you can't bring a gun to I fight,

raymundo-save-me:

nah. Or pen

Track 2:

No.

raymundo-save-me:

You're chesting the line of fire with your thin ass vest. Be bringing the boy to Ben. How the boys go win get in the triage. Nah, man. Yeah, but

Track 2:

So I think the allow was bring a knife to a gunfight. I think I said it wrong. You might have to re redo that part.

raymundo-save-me:

nah, we're keeping that shit.

Track 2:

Even if you're mentally, physically, and mentally tough and woken in that, you don't know if you're bringing a knife to a gunfight when you walk out that door. So my point is that you still gotta be ready, willing, and able to come. out there. You guys still gotta be physically and mentally tough to face those fears.

raymundo-save-me:

and everything starts mentally you, mentally tough. You'd be tough enough to deal with, you know, everything that comes your way. But in the only way you really get mentally tough, I mean, at least from my perspective, is, having control of yourself in some way. Right? Cause I feel like there's so many things that, we get distracted, we have worries. loss, fear, everything, but being mentally tough allows you to still have those things and still fucking do it anyway. And I think when it comes down to a lot of shit, it's either you, whether you gonna do it or not. Are you ready or not? Are you gonna do it? Are you scared? All right, but are you gonna do it? Are you deter? Well, Determina, see, and I think determination is this two part process, right? Cause I could be to determined for three days and not finish this shit. But when determination is complete is when you've done what you was determined by. Like what, what made you determined in the first place, right? So

Track 2:

Wow.

raymundo-save-me:

I'm determined to be the greatest podcaster alive. Right? Now you can say I'm determined, but if I quit for three years, am I still determined?

Track 2:

No,

raymundo-save-me:

when you'll give me my respect is when you seen results For my determination, like as a, as of mine,

Nancy:

As of my

Track 2:

that, that's it.

raymundo-save-me:

Oh, I, I threw a transition bomb. I feel like the way we just explained it, how you can relate it to your real life, to your, to know, to your reality, I think it's dope and you should really consider it. Um, I know he's a made up character, but some, you know, fake it till you make it. Sometimes you gotta be a made up character, you know what I'm saying? until it comes to life like, until you come to life like Fat Albert, you know, come out right down the motherfucking tv.

Track 2:

Uh, is that king Peel? No,

raymundo-save-me:

No, Keenan and Cal. Cal Keenan. Keenan.

Track 2:

king and ke ke peel. Kind like fat out, but little bit

raymundo-save-me:

Yo, he, he's another one I wanted to show. I used to see him in the city all the time.

Track 2:

bro. Peel. Oh,

raymundo-save-me:

Oh no. Oh no. Nah. Those dudes. Those dudes is legends. I was talking about Keenan is a legend too, but, uh, Peel, they hilarious, man. They,

Track 2:

oh. King P,

raymundo-save-me:

I would love to do a ski with them, man. I feel like it'll be

Track 2:

Oh God.

raymundo-save-me:

but that's the thing, man. I always think I'm funny and I'm not always, I'm not always in, but, um,

Track 2:

I, think if

raymundo-save-me:

nah, I know man. I appreciate that. My, It's like my friends that know me know I'm funny and then they, they don't think, I mean, they don't think all my jokes is funny, but So to wrap this up, which human ability should be considered a superpower? Just name one. I started off with you cuz once I tell you, you'll know it'll start coming to you. Um. I'm gonna go with awareness. No, no, no, no. Fuck that. You know what's a great human, You know, what's the, I think it's the best rejection proof.

Track 2:

Um,

raymundo-save-me:

What that means is, yo, you know, the in in sales is the law of averages, right? You heard of that? If I, if I see 10, how many no's does it take for you to get a yes. If your rejection proof, you gonna get whatever you want. Because what stops a lot of people in the tracks is the simple word or two letter word,

Track 2:

All right.

raymundo-save-me:

but then put dreams in the cemetery that we can't see,

Track 2:

right?

raymundo-save-me:

No. So if you can be told no a million times and still not die after that. I really like example, if I'm trying to be a salesman, if I ask a million people to listen to the Ramo show, I feel like I'm almost gonna guarantee that out of those million that I ask a hundred thousand gonna like my shit. But a hundred thousand even just put a dollar into my shit, I would never have to work again, cuz I'm gonna go from there. So that just lets you know the power of that. That's a human superpower. You could take projection. But anyway. Which one you, which one did you think of during that? All that shit. I've been talking.

Track 2:

shit, I wanna say readiness. I wanna say like,

raymundo-save-me:

no, don't, If you say readiness one more time, I'm gonna fucking erase that. He's like, Cause you know, Batman's readiness and he's like, yo, super power readiness. Um,

Track 2:

Just being prepared. just being prepared. Just being, going out there and just knowing like you got the tools in life to go out there and just make it work, make it happen. Like, you can't go.

raymundo-save-me:

being prepared is a superpower that, that,

Track 2:

Absolutely. Like you gotta go out,

raymundo-save-me:

I didn't have it on my list, but it is, cause

Track 2:

you gotta go out there with the right tools. No matter who you are, no matter what you do. Like you gotta go out there with the right tools like, Whether you, you know, whether you are a real estate agent, whether you are a sales man, whether you, a juah, whatever it is. Like you gotta go out there, with the right tools. you gotta be ready to like, just tackle on the day, tackle on the world. So writing is what, that's,

raymundo-save-me:

and you gotta have the right tools, right? Cause you know what I'm saying? If you gonna do some construction shit, but you got dentist tools, you know what I mean? You go,

Track 2:

so I hope You go, out there with the right tools. Cause I'm, I'm, you. know what I'm saying? Like, Yeah. Like, you know what your job is like, All right, I'm gonna go out there knowing I need a flashlight. that's your superpower. That's, you gotta go out there with the right tools.

raymundo-save-me:

what? I like that. So the ones we going with is Jonathan's word of the day readiness And mine is, uh, being rejection proof.

Track 2:

Yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

Awareness and being an action taker.

Track 2:

Hm.

raymundo-save-me:

You combine all, even if you combine those fours of rap awareness, you're able to,

Track 2:

Yeah. Your

raymundo-save-me:

realize what's going on,

Track 2:

of

raymundo-save-me:

be able to see something that no one else is. rejection proof. You don't take no for an answer.

Track 2:

Okay.

raymundo-save-me:

Readiness. You never have to get ready if you're already ready, Right? and what was the other one? Oh my God. A action taker. You take action, or you talk and take action, you are bad shut. What, what? You said shut your mouth. I'm talking about I'm talking about action, baby Yeah, man. But the wrap it up. Why should you save yourself?

Track 2:

Look man, I think uh, you got one life live. Got one life live, and uh,

raymundo-save-me:

You don't end up in the general hospital,

Track 2:

you.

raymundo-save-me:

You know what I'm saying? You gotta be there for all your children, I wanna thank Jonathan's bladder for

Track 2:

Broke about five times.

raymundo-save-me:

Nah, it's all good man. That's crazy. That's the first time I've interviewed anybody. You're the first person to go to the bathroom on an interview, so you be history. Your history, brother why you thinking you should save yourself? And for me it is as simple as saying, cuz you can't always depend on other people. That's it. I don't give a fuck how dependable the person is. I don't give fuck. another person can't always be there. When they got their own shit going on. So

Track 2:

You got some good ass questions, man.

raymundo-save-me:

On the next show. And the power not, may, may not be superhuman strength, but it's is what you need to proceed with anything. If you got the power of love, if you got the power of, of, of desire, if you have the power of, dreaming big, you know, you have the power to be anybody who you want to be. If you put your mind to it and you doing that, you'll become your own hero. And maybe they can write something or basic comic book or you, you know what I'm saying? I'm looking for what the man coming out 2046, you know what I'm saying? And, and, um, Jonathan, the organizer, I, but nah man. Yo, this was a great episode, man. Like, uh, it was great to talk about being a hero. Uh, wait, my brother, one of my best friends, someone who's a topnotch member, The support squad. once this bus, once the Muno show get established, he go, he gonna have a position as a consultant.

Track 2:

That go

raymundo-save-me:

honestly, this show would not be, I don't think it would be as great as it's, as, as it is in his spectacular is becoming without my, my brother's words.

Track 2:

Appreciate

raymundo-save-me:

His words and his energy, man. And if there's one thing I know my brother is always going to be there So, so, you know what I'm saying? And it was, it was great to finally get an episode. He was supposed to be on season one, you know, now we're gonna finally do that podcast, Batman podcast. Hopefully, I would say hopefully by next year, cuz this year looking kind of hectic. But, If we don't do it by next year, I'm not doing it. That's how seriously we have to do it. I don't wanna keep dragging shit to years, like if it is not done next year, but we doing that. So

Track 2:

Michael Key and Batman, 1989 commentary coming soon.

raymundo-save-me:

come to Sue, man. Everything badman. you know, once we think of the name and we think about what direction we're gonna go with, it's gonna be so much fun. I look, I really look forward to doing that cuz, you know, saying I love Batman and That's where that shit came from. Yo, that I'm watching that episode as a kid I was just like, wow.

Track 2:

Yeah,

raymundo-save-me:

Man. But like I was saying, man, it was great having you on the show.

Track 2:

Same, same,

raymundo-save-me:

coming man. You did your thing. It was great to get your insight. definitely not gonna be the last time, but Yeah. This one you were supposed to be like. Yeah man, it was great being on the show.

Track 2:

Listen You see is hot bro. You see this hot. Um, I appreciate you. I I love the Raymundo Show. Um, it's, it's honor. Is it a pleasure to be here. I can't thank you, enough, man. I didn't think I was gonna make the cut, but I made the cut

raymundo-save-me:

Yeah. Wait. With my closest friends, it's just a, a secret pressure to wanting to be a classic. But when I realize just like on the phone, man, it's just always a great conversation. Whether it's on the laptop, whether it's in person. Whether you know what I'm saying? It's in a bar with Lui listening to fun tonight, eight fucking thousand times. It's always, it's always love tonight. That shit,

Track 2:

This is the first, first episode, and I'm sure it won't be the last so,

raymundo-save-me:

yo. And you know what's crazy? We still talking about Susu

Track 2:

Oh, yeah.

raymundo-save-me:

All right, brother, til next time, brother.

Track 2:

Yo. So next time. uh, Big Shot. Theo Show is a pleasure. It's an honor.

raymundo-save-me:

love brother.

Track 2:

we out.

Saving yourself. Shouldn't be an option, but a necessity. Of video game. Is the only time. You could play with your destiny. Keep questioning why you haven't made it. When you didn't learn the recipe. If you've got complete trust in yourself. Then, you know, you got a superpower. It's beautiful. Like the bloom form of fucking flower. It's a numbers game, but none of the numbers matter. If you can't count on yourself. Doesn't mean you can't be like MacGyver with the resources. But most importantly, you want to be able to be in positions to help the ones you love. The ones that share blood. And the ones that didn't call you a scrub when you was in the passenger side of your best friends. Who'd you going to call? Definitely not the Ghostbusters. When you got you like the word you. Flip mode is the only time you should be hanging with a Boston. Being your own hero. It's not about wearing a certain outfit. Or your accolades or how much you get paid and laid it's about that grit. That grind. Whatever it takes to make yourself proud all the time. Or at least most. Me personally, I want to be my own So when my kids look in the sky, They'll believe me when I say your father can fly. Cause I feel like Superman when I see the love in the eyes. And I'm here to testify. The hero I will grow to be. We'll be for them. Because they saved me when they took my misery and brought it to a N. But I hope this episode made you think. Because. You will get. Guero and freaky. Fucking place. I want to thank you for tuning in. I want to dig my brother, Jonathan. For co-hosting the show with me. And bringing that great energy to the show. I always have a lot of fun when. My brother's is on the episode. But. I hope you got the messages, man. I just want you to be your own hero, everything. And I feel like. Is always. Meant to make us think outside ourselves, but. You got what it takes, man. But if this is your first time joining. Or you or regular? Is all love is the Brooklyn way. Well be safe out there. Peace love Mundo out.
